So let's get straight to what makes FAC Medusa a new versatile and characterful compressor! FAC Medusa combines different dynamic processors into a single and easy to use unit, the input signal flows along the following stages: 1) "Pre-amp with tone control and saturation circuit" The input signal is split into three bands of frequencies (Low, Mid and High) according two adjustable crossover points. Setting the level and the saturation amount of each frequency band will definitely make the effect more natural or characterful. 2) "Compression" In addition to the usual controls you may expect, FAC Medusa also provides two types of compression. Downward compression, which is obviously the most common, decreases the level of audio signal above the threshold. And also Upward compression which is less known, despite powerful, and increases the level of audio signal below the threshold. The compression can operate either on the SUM of the frequency bands (L+M+H) or on each frequency band coming from stage 1. 3) "Parallel compression and Brickwall limiter" The master Brickwall limiter is optional and will ensure that the output of stage 2, possibly blended with the original audio signal, remain under control. The limiter comes with threshold and release time controls. As you have realized FAC Medusa has many faces: gentle, natural, or aggressive and colorful. Choose the one you want and be prepared for an exciting sound design experience. Whether you are a budding music producer or passionate amateur musician in any genre, you will definitely find a happy use for it! - AuV3 and Standalone App - To use the sidechain and/or to output the additional three bands, you need a host able to provide to the AuV3 an input bus and three additional output busses The documentation is available at fredantoncorvest.com/FAC_Medusa.html ## FAC Medusa Screenshots - [Screenshot 1](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource122/v4/e0/be/7f/e0be7f1e-862d-4535-5601-9075b54133a5/f2a4f0c7-b6e9-4723-94e9-2d4b75aca50e_iPhone_6.5_2778x1284_1.png/2778x1284.png) - [Screenshot 2](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource122/v4/cf/34/ca/cf34caca-beff-7475-4fb2-9b5283bfc585/7fa8e17e-109b-40dd-98ac-de389a84ba19_iPhone_6.5_2778x1284_2.png/2778x1284.png) - [Screenshot 3](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource122/v4/7e/de/31/7ede31d9-ea2e-ad51-9fe8-ffe3e08f6612/0fee9182-2ec8-4a58-863f-3f412ad57e1f_iPhone_6.5_2778x1284_3.png/2778x1284.png) - [Screenshot 4](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource122/v4/bd/fd/e1/bdfde18a-0758-8e6a-d9a2-e3b7f1b51ec3/6367a3a0-cf6c-4565-bd84-d7ac40725f2c_iPhone_6.5_2778x1284_4.png/2778x1284.png) ## FAC Medusa Rating Breakdown in United States - 5 stars: 23 (100%) - 4 stars: 0 (0%) - 3 stars: 0 (0%) - 2 stars: 0 (0%) - 1 stars: 0 (0%) ## FAC Medusa Reviews in United States ### ***** "a top-notch dynamics processor" This compressor is solid, and it gets the job done. The sidechain capability is great, and saturation by band is an added bonus. I’ve found that boosting saturation in the midrange adds a ton of warmth and character to my audio source. It’s also visually pleasing and very easy to use. Another fine app by FAC! -- Noodlehoss, 2024-02-27 ### ***** "Landslide!" The most addictive dynamics processor on iOS imho. -- twenny9.5, 2023-03-15 ### ***** "Another winner" I admire this dev very much, works hard, super pro apps ! Gotta get em all!
