Fantasian is an exciting, new RPG set against a spectacular backdrop made from nearly 160 handmade dioramas that blends physical environments and 3D characters.

● Dive into the Dioramas
Explore the nearly 160 different hand-crafted dioramas in Fantasian, with particular attention to detail. The adventure lasts between 60~90 hours with the first part more focused on story and the latter half more quest-driven, giving players the freedom to explore the world.

● New Battle Mechanics
Tapping into his experience from the Final Fantasy franchise, Sakaguchi brings to Fantasian several quality of life improvements to the classic JRPG genre, such as the “Dimengeon Battle” mechanic, which allows players to send previously encountered enemies into a separate dimensional dungeon to streamline combat and maximize uninterrupted exploration of the beautiful locations.
“Dimengeon Battles” introduce various “Gimmicks” or power-ups that can turn the tide of battle for a satisfying encounter.
Likewise, the Growth Map gives players various customization options and party members can be swapped in and out for even more diverse strategic options.

● Legendary Soundtrack
Celebrated composer Nobuo Uematsu, known for his work on the Final Fantasy series, scored all 60 tracks. The many layers of a full orchestra and diverse synth melodies compliment the memorable and magical world of Fantasian.

I have always been obsessed with Final Fantasy 7, and this game plays just like it! The graphics are amazing and I’m loving the story. I love that Apple Arcade came out with a game like this good. Keep it up Apple!

### ***** "Truly a Masterpiece."
I normally don’t write reviews but this game has blown me away in all aspects. It reminds me of Chrono Cross and FFVII on the PS1 but remastered with better graphics and gameplay. 

It has all of the best aspects of old Anime RPG’s with modern graphics. Highly recommend if you enjoyed any FF style RPG’s.

Occasional lagging and many crashes when exercising divine skills reduce the rating to 2. Last update was 2yr ago. Not recommended to play on a less powerful platform.

It feels like a classic final fantasy game with a unique take on combat. Playing it on a giant screen in Vision Pro is perfect. Gaze and pinch works great.

Just like the title says, I gave up.
I’m writing this to fix the fact that I gave this game three stars originally, it doesn’t deserve that, man it doesn’t even deserve one star.
This game is hard, and believe me I’ve beaten games that rival Dark Souls in difficulty. However, most of the time I just needed to get better at the game, I needed more skill. THIS GAME HAS NO SKILL INVOLVED, it’s all luck. Oh new boss? Hope your level is high enough. Oh new area? Hope there’s a way to heal up. 
The only way to beat this game is to senselessly grind for HOURS. No one has time for that I don’t have time for that. 
Also there are areas where if you’re level is not high enough to beat the boss you WILL get soft locked. There are places where there is no where to heal up, so you can’t grind for levels. This means you have to load a previous save, I lost SIX hours because of this, and that doesn’t count the grinding I had to do to beat that boss.
Most people are probably thinking “oh you just need better equipment.” 
No you don’t. 
I would have the best equipment you could get and I would still be absolutely decimated. 
There are also time where the objective is not clear at all. I would spend thirty minutes trying to figure out what I’m supposed to do before just looking it up on the internet. 
And what’s worse is this was made by the same people who make the Final Fantasy games, so what happened? This feels like something they threw together in a month. That or they were just like “hey let’s not hire any testers for this game. It will be totally fine.”
I would rather clean a toilet with my toothbrush than finish this.

Which brain dead idiot forgot about difficulty settings? Because they should be fired! Please add difficulty settings to the game. BTW if I could rate 2.5 stars I would.

Playing this transports me back to my childhood playing old 2D Final Fantasies. Great characters, beautiful writing and presentation. A truly handcrafted experience with actual miniatures built for the backgrounds.

### **--- "Rage Quitting 30+ Hours In"
I have been playing JRPGs for a long time, and I almost always finish games that I start. But after the first 20 or so hours, this game just gets WAY too difficult. 

The bosses are 45+ minutes of just barely keeping your party alive and just occasionally hitting the enemy for a little damage. Overleveling is more of a slog than it is in similar games and isn’t even very helpful, and the later bosses don’t afford you the flexibility to use any creative strategies — there’s only one way to beat some of them, and it might require changing your whole loadout and skill tree to do it. 

There absolutely is an audience for this style of punishing, old-school JRPG, but I don’t think that audience is on Apple Arcade and they probably don’t want to play it on their phones.

First, good game with an engaging story (albeit young adult with often clueless characters) and plenty of depth. Battles could use more strategy or skill for my taste. After several tries I finally beat the boss at the end of pt 1 (Vam) and the game crashes during the cinema. Devs could at least have put a checkpoint as soon as the battle is over. Game has been stable otherwise on a 15 Pro.

### ***** "A hidden gem"
This game is amazing and I almost overlooked it because I thought the icon logo made it look like a Nier Automata ripoff- NOPE! This might be the best Apple Arcade exclusive. 

Story: Passable. The characters are likable but I haven’t been blown away by the story. It’s got a lot of JRPG tropes so you won’t find depth like Nier or most western RPGs but it’s fine. 

Graphics: All the backgrounds are hand made models and it’s so charming. The monster designs are great, I just wish there was more variety because you start to see a lot of differently colored clones after a while. But eh, budget. The bosses are where the graphics shine most.

Sound: Fantastic soundtrack. No notes. They got the composer from the old school final fantasy games doing this and it’s great. 

Gameplay: Oh, yes, here is where this game shines. Like a chef’s kiss of JRPG gameplay. Honestly, I’d gotten pretty bored with the genre a long time ago but this game? This game knows what it’s doing. 

First, there are random battles- but early on you’ll get a device that lets you “collect” the random encounters so you’ll face 30 - 40 monsters at once instead of being interrupted constantly. These big battles are really fun and take the tedium out of grinding. 

Attack placement, timing, and elements is a huge part of this game. Each attack comes out in a line and can be either a straight line, or an arc. You can cut through enemies, or use the arc to bypass enemies that will block your attack. There are no “limit break” style cinematic attacks (that I’ve seen, anyway, I’m 25+ hours in so time will tell. The game is 60 - 80 hours long) I feel engaged with each battle. 

There are no wasted items either! Every single item is useful, even the low level potions from early in the game can be useful. (One characters gimmick is that he synthesizes items for his attacks/buffs) 

This is one of those games where you will NEED to use buffs. You will NEED to have the right item accessorized, and you will NEED to plan character placement ahead of time. It’s one of the best JRPG battle systems I’ve seen and the boss battles are nail biting. They are balanced so you are always just barely getting by and party wipe is very common. 

The only knock I have against the gameplay are the early side quests. They’re very tedious (THE CAT ONE- It’s in the alleyway next to the potion shop after you find the fish bones in the road up to the old town. You’re welcome.) and this game has instances of “Go over here. No. Go

I like this game, it’s pretty fun and not like a lot of other games. However, i cannot get past the sand serpent thingy when on the cruise ship! It’s impossible to beat and I have failed time and time again! Because of this, i rarely pick this game back up and play others. Please make this easier! But it’s pretty good otherwise.

This game proves that it's possible to develop a high-quality video game for Apple. Visually, it's great, and it's a solid RPG. (And I mean a real RPG, not one of those gacha games that's about 2% RPG and 98% action.) The only issue I have is that Fantasian is a little too heavy on storyline. I appreciate storyline in RPGs and think it's essential, but this game borders on being a visual novel. I get kind of irritated having to stop so frequently to read storyline.

I’m not a review guy, but I had I write one for this game. It’s hands down the best mobile game I’ve ever played. The combat is perfect, the music is solid and the graphics are as good as you’re going to get for a mobile game. I will say that I enjoy harder games, and this scratches that itch. The level of difficulty might not be for everyone though. The only hint holding it back is the story is alittle on the weak side. I still definitely recommend this game though, give it a try! It’s beatable in a month, so it’s well worth the $6 for Apple Arcade.
