Long Time Paying Customer
I’m a long time paying customer and think Fantastical is far and away the best option on the Mac, iPad, and iPhone…but the watch? I was surprised to find the native watch app far superior in every way to what Fantastical has built out. Fantastical basically only offers a list of events while the native app allows you to view a week and month view. Hope to see improvements where the watch app gains parity with the other platforms.
Used to be the best
All of a sudden, sometime in the last few weeks, changing dates for tasks on the calendar became so slow - sometimes over 3 seconds before it changes. This is very frustrating as it used to work so seamlessly.
No, I don’t want to pay for Flexibits Premium
Great app. I understand you need to get people to pay for features in order to make money. But I only use the basic features. Each time I add a reminder or add a calendar event, I have to deal with your annoying popup asking me if I want to subscribe. Then you make the “no” button extremely small. Please just honor the fact that I don’t want to pay you. These pop ups make me even more unlikely to pay you. Fortunately Apple will offer all the features I need in iOS 18 and I can finally delete your app this fall!

This app on my iPhone 13 has been unusable for a while
The calendar has been slow, almost always freeze for 3-4 seconds when I navigate around the app, when I add new events. The user experience from the lagginess is just utterly bad.
Openings is worth the price of admission.
Our company uses Office 365, and I hate Outlook! Unfortunately, I have needed Microsoft Bookings for scheduling, but Bookings appointments don’t show correctly in pretty much anything outside of Outlook. I just discovered Fantastical Openings, and it completely eliminates the need to use Bookings, and appointments show up appropriately in all of my non-Outlook calendar apps. The Openings interface is so much more intuitive and nicer looking than Bookings and is worth the price of the subscription for me. Also, being able to book Teams meetings directly via Fantastical is awesome! Very polished app with lots of power features. Totally worth it, even after the subscription price increase.
Subscription Model? No Thanks
Remember, this is the company who let you buy the app and then a few years later just pay walled a lot of features with a subscription. I’ll never get over that and you’ve forever lost a customer. Don’t support devs like this.
Best Calendar Discovered
This is by far the most excellent and best calendar app I came across thus far. The only flaw I found with this app is that it does not grant its users the ability to create sub-tasks and projects. Other than that this app is near flawless. I would hope the developer(s) add those features.
Falling behind
IOS 18 will make it hard to justify keeping a Fantastical subscription next year. I love this app, but it's fallen behind. Reminders integration is barebones, and I'm not thrilled with the new task lists on iOS. As someone with many lists, that's a lot of scrolling to the left and right with wasted screen real estate. If Reminders integrates well with the iOS Calendar, I’ll need a good reason to stay with Fantastical for $60/year.
