File Getter is the easiest way to get files from your PC or Mac.
Connect to your home wifi, copy files from your PC or Mac. No cables, no fuss.

File Getter uses a free helper app which you install on your computer.
This lets you browse files, and rapidly download them to your device.
No waiting for cloud syncing, no cables, no complex interfaces on your device.

Just pick a file, tap and watch it download.

Once your file is downloaded, tap share to see a list of all the apps which can open it.
One more tap and your file will be sent to your chosen app.

Open books with iBooks.
Open movies with VLC or VLC Streamer.
Open text documents in Notes.
And so on, and so forth...

Open presentations, spreadsheets, images, movies, documents, or any other file that your device can handle through the OS sharing system.

File Getter even includes a built in preview capability to let you quickly view many documents, images and movies.

I updated the helper on an Intel Mac and it no longer works. What gives?

When installing the helper app on my Mac, received pop up from Apple warning this was insecure software. Have deleted from systems and devices.  When I received the warning the helper app was asking for a hole in my firewall and control of Systems Preferences. Avoid.

This is the kind of app that has made the App Store a great tool for scamming users.

After you buy the app, you open it and click add computer. It takes you a page that says you need to download help software. You click the link, and it goes in circles back to the page with the link and trying to sell you other more software.

Manually going to the site, I finally found a menu with 10 links that looked promising, with titles like “The computer software, for mobile software applications. You select any like and it sends you page with links to vendors from Amazon to Target to Just Answers.

Is this why the app only costs .99? The 
Why does description imply that you rcan access other computers on your network from your iPad directly?

This kind of experience represents the worst of internet commerce today. Excepting Amazon Prime, and especially e-bay  stores, it’s all clicks.

I started using the Internet in 1999 when the emphasis was on information sharing, and communication.

Now, like this app, it’s about even purchased apps filled with advertisements and tricks in free apps that say, “if you want that feature you need to buy the “pro” version.

Mainly used to load video lectures onto my iPad Pro. 100x easier than loading them through iTunes, especially to VLC.

App is convenient but found it freezes like 1/5 of the time and no way to reset it. It freezes while fetching and even restarting or deleting the downloads don't do anything. Only way to fix it, delete the app and reinstall.

I have also used VLC Streamer from this company and have used it for several years. I had no doubts that File Getter would preform well too. If you need to fetch a file quickly and easily, I would recommend this app.
