Slow performance, burning battery
After Jan 7th 2025 the FT app has become highly resource inefficient and causes my phone to heat up when running. Some recent change seems to be causing an issue. Comments section is also very slow to respond, showing input lag greater than 250ms when typing. Not sure what changed but if it keeps up I’ll be canceling my subscription.
Dark mode needed
Great app to get information but would love it more if there was a dark mode feature to be easy on your eyes.
Good quality & always interesting
The app is easy to use and of course the content is great.
tired of constantly having to log in!
i pay 100 cad for the premium subscription yet financial times makes it difficult to use it. i have 3 tablets, 3 mobile & 2 laptops of different OS. nobody else uses these devices except me. though i go on FT from the same locations for over a year now i’m forced to log in too much! Let me stay logged in!

The app works fine. It’s the content that is stellar.
I’ve looked briefly at FT content as an extra while subscribing to other sources. Trying a full paid subscription now for a time - and I am amazed at how much content and variety that there is in this product. Combined with some serious depth and heft. Steep cost of admission, but . . . Wow!
Not as insightful as it should be
Some good analysis but that’s outweighed by the many articles that are indifferently and woodenly written. Opinion pieces are woolly and couched to such an extent as to be ultimately meaningless. There seems to be no editing of the copy or perhaps there is and it only makes it worse Earnings reports are barely rewritten from the press releases they came from. This could be a much better newspaper.
