Cheaters

FT increased price of annual subscription by 50% notifying about that two days after they charged the credit card. Very improper way of dealing with customer who was around for 5 years

Notifications are not working

After multiple efforts to reinstall the all, toogle on/off the notification settings... The problem still exists.

Overhaul needed

This app needs an update. Its aesthetic is old and it is not well written. Compare the work done in apps like NYT or CNN

Good first step, needs polishing

Like others have noted, it is wonderful that the app in itself is finally available for iOS, eliminating the needs to exclusively use a browser to read FT. However, some features are missing, including the ability to go fullscreen while reading, which, through browsers like Safari (Reading Mode), makes it much more convinient and easy to read, by minimising distractions like related stories and links. Perhaps you could make these display elements slowly fade out of the UI as one swipes further down the story, like it is often done in reading apps. Finally, an iPad-specific suggestion would be to make better use of the extra screen. It is evident that whenever opens an article to read, only the right part of the screen is taken by the actual text, which is both inconvenient due to it being off-centered, and also a non very wise use of the additional space of the tablets. Perhaps the aforementioned introduction of a reading mode would solve this issue to. Proof of that is how brilliantly Reader-Mode works on Safari on iPads, which make FT article-reading an even better and easier experience than before. Keep up the good work!

The Comments are what I read. Everything else is noise.

Exceptional Daily Poorly Served by Weak App

jeanpercf on

United Kingdom

The FT is one of the best newspaper in the western world. What a shame that its digital format is massively sub-par. Try retrieving any past article you missed when it was publishing. Good luck with that, except if you have the title word for word. The search function is abysmal. This is not acceptable in the age of Google and ChatGPT

Please change text width on iPad

omegawhovian on

United Kingdom

The app is really difficult to read because the text is too wide. In portrait mode on iPad the line width spans the entire width of the screen making it uncomfortable to read. Not a problem with the size of the text but how wide the line is. Please allow users to change it.

Brilliant

Perhaps the best digital face of any paper. Unending and timely offering with superb journalism. Always a pleasure!
