Good app
I love the app and find it easy to use. It’s great that Find a Grave memorials pull through on ancestry, helping to bills your family tree.
However, things could be made easier Abe improved in the app e.g.:
- being able to link multiple photos of the same grave by taking them at the save time rather than taking one photo, transcribing it and then uploading other photos.
- being able to take multiple photos in a cemetery of different graves and transcribing all the photos are the end rather than taking one photo and transcribing before moving onto the next. This would allow for more GPS locations to be added so people know exactly where graves are in a cemetery.
- more investment from ancestry in the app to continue to improve the features and functionality for users.
Hard to navigate
I think the FindaGrave website is great but I struggle to navigate the app. I know I have been send messages but cannot find where they are hidden in the app!
Online your support team have stated the messages are below my profile - there is nothing there!!!
Plagued with service errors
Sadly at the moment the app runs into service errors when pressing the My Memorials button and. Not displaying the memorials
Other wise was a top class app until then, so may need a little tweek update

What’s wrong
This is an organisation that has no interest if the information is correct like ancestry and free bmd collecting information at any cost is their main target. When it comes to ensuring accuracy not bothered over the years I’ve taken samples of their information and been amazed at the error percentages but as they all have links to America it’s not surprising
Fantastic app
Great app, I run an instagram account for grave history so I use this a lot, very helpful and interesting too.
Its ok
The website on browser is a better layout than the app, if you click on profiles of those who have created the “profiles” of loved ones graves on the app, you are unable to message them, however go on to the website you can. There needs to be a message option on the app too.
Flaw in system
Not just the app but there has to be a better way to add cemeteries. I’m currently on holiday in Brittany and Normandy, France. It’s very frustrating trying to find cemeteries where you know they exist because you are standing in it. Log on to website to find that the cemetery exists but it hasn’t been located because the coordinates have never been entered.
Why are you allowing them to be recognised with no location? It then means that any memorials locations can’t be added because the cemetery doesn’t have one! Grrrr!
It’s such a long winded way to request the location to be added through the forum with no way of knowing without constant checking if it’s been approved.
Please do something!
Great site but maybe a few improvements
A great idea for reference. You can gain so much information from a headstone. I like to upload photos of graves and can take a few of the same grave if necessary. However, it would be good if you could select more than one photo at a time to upload for the same grave as it’s tedious only having to select one, upload and then add another and having to scroll through you’re photos to select the next.
Not that good
Although the app finds the graveyards, it doesn’t actually tell you where exactly the grave is. If there are, say 1,000 plus graves on one site, then you will waste a lot of time and energy looking for one grave. I have been to 4 gravesites and only managed to find one grave( as this was a substantial monument-that’s the reason I found it).
So I will not be using this site to locate graves.
