most of the jobs i’ve worked in my city have been through sittercity. also have never received a scam message on here which is so great compared to other apps/websites. my only issue has been with editing my profile, but usually i can visit the website and edit stuff through that.

$100 just to send a message to a babysitter.

They use the dating app trap of 'look at all these people who MIGHT be just what you need but before you can try to talk to them we went a fresh kidney every month to be able to send messages.'

This is not free, or even premium. This is expensive and abusive.

I’ve used the app for a few months and I was able to find a part time job where I make good money with a good schedule and a great family. But besides that I haven’t been able to see many other options and every time I look for new opportunities with more families it’s so saturated. There’s about 10 job openings every week with 30-40 applicants each or more. So it’s hard to get a call from so many applicants.

### *---- "RACIST APP MANAGEMENT STAY AWAY!"
Stay away from this RACIST app! I have been babysitting for 5 years and use several different apps to find clients. I have never had any complaints or issues whatsoever, until now. I provided after school care for a family for 2 weeks, and decided to end my employment with them after enduring several racist remarks from the mom. I told her on a Sunday that I would not be working for her anymore, and she texted me back saying that I was so unprofessional for not giving her more notice. I would have preferred not to give her any notice at all, but I am professional, and also I wanted to tell her in plenty of time for her to arrange for someone else to pick up the children on Monday. My first few shifts were fine, but then she made a remark that really caught me off guard. It made me very uncomfortable, but I excused it, because it was around the time of the election, and I just thought it had to do with politics. After the second remark and some other odd behavior, I realized that something was definitely wrong. I thought about it for a day or two, and then reached out to her on that Sunday. I didn’t even mention that this was the reason, because I did not think it was even worth it. Next thing I know, she wrote a bad review for me that was filled with lies. She was just upset because of the short notice, but she basically made it sound like I was completely untrustworthy. I reached out to the company to explain my side of it, and they said they were not at all concerned about my side of things, and that I was now banned by the app!! They do not even care that this lady was racist and lying in her review. So now she can move on to the next babysitter, and I get to lose work. Please be warned that anyone can say anything, and the company will not care about your side of things! They only give their general 3 number list of why you might be banned with no explanation. They obviously only care about continuing to get the subscription money from the parents. Very greedy company that does NOT care about their sitters. Use any other babysitting app then this one.

This app is absolutely terrible. I got banned when I can swear on the Bible I did NOTHING against their terms of use. My background check came in perfectly as well as on my car. When I reached out, I asked them to please look into it because I know it was an error but they refused. Poor customer service. Care.com is way better.

I was on Sittercity for years with no issues, I had many background checks run that came back as clean, which were out of pocket by the way and very expensive. And I had multiple 5 star ratings from families who were very satisfied with my care. Then out of the blue I couldn’t log into my account and I contacted support. When they got back to me, they told me my account had been removed from the platform and listed generic reasons for why this happened. I emailed back asking for specifics because I didn’t fit any of the criteria, and they said they couldn’t give me specifics but my account being banned is permanent. A big slap in the face because I recommended Sittercity to many parents and caregivers which I will not be doing anymore. This was my only source of income as a struggling full time college student with a random class schedule. Very dissatisfied with Sittercity!

I just started using this app to find a babysitter and it isn’t very user friendly. A lot of things can be changed to have a better experience. For example, viewing the reviews of a sitter and writing a review of a sitter. When someone messages about a job post and you click view applicant the option to view their reviews is not there. You have go back to their profile from outside the messages and tap the reviews under their profile picture. To write a review you would think it’d be public automatically right, but it is not unfortunately. I wanted to leave a review on an applicant and the only option was for private viewing? Like what is that about? When I contacted the support team they wanted the name of the applicant to assist me with leaving a public review. I was beyond confused at that point and just decided Sittercity has a lot of changes to be made and it is not for us. Care.com would never!
