Yes you only get 4 letters. But what is the lite version for? It's to give the parent a taste before you spend $1 on the full version. I loaded the lite and it was good enough to upgrade to full version. If you are really going to 1 star this app because its limited, then you need to stop buying iPads for your toddler. It's the new trick of the trade it seems for many apps. A turn off for me who would normally pay for an upgraded version but not like this.
