Flashtex: Learn Flashcards

As a linguist, using flash cards is a great way to learn vocabulary. The great benefits of this app is that it has a lot of functionality - import options, study options including reversing the questions and answers, it also has a really attractive interface and helps you to organise your information neatly. If you need to add images or handwritten/hand-drawn sketches, you have all the tools at your disposal. However, the big negative for me is that swipe gestures to thumbs up or thumbs down a card are really bad. I’ve exchanged some suggestions with the developer so am keeping my fingers crossed that there are some gesture enhancements in a future release. In Mochi flash cards you can swipe cards left and right no problem allowing you to focus on what you are studying rather than the uber sensitive swipe technique. Surely there’s an accommodation for scrolling and swiping. The Appearance settings are also good allowing you to further enhance the look of your decks as you work through them.

As a mathematician, sometimes I need to write my flash cards in LaTeX. However, sometimes I also need to jot down any workings by hand, as they do not translate well in a typed environment. FlashTex is the perfect solution to both of my needs, and has allowed me to take my studying that step further. All its missing is great LaTeX support (i.e. for packages) and polishing some bugs (for example, cannot \textbf with Greek letters), but this is if I had to nitpick.

This is the best app for handwritten Flashcards that I’ve found! The interface is great and very easy to navigate. The stats are super useful, too. I just wish that it wasn’t so expensive to get unlimited number of Flashcards: without paying £3.49, you can only make 20 cards, which is barely anything. This may be the best product, but it’s also the most expensive.

Einfach simpel und effektiv.

Super App! Man kann Karten zwischen den Decks duplizieren und verschieben, sie mittels Tags markieren und die Anzeige/ Sortierung ändern. Zudem hat die App die klassische Anki Spaced Repetition Funktion. Ein einziges Problem, das ich habe: ich baue meine Karteikarten meist aufeinander auf, d.h. ich habe gerne eine Ansicht, in der ich die Karten nach ihrer thematischen Relevanz sortieren kann (ist in Kartenheld möglich, aber dafür keine Tags/ Duplizieren von Karten). Scheinbar kann man hier die Reihenfolge der Karten wohl leider nicht händisch ändern. Aber dennoch tolle App!

Ich möchte wirklich 5 Sterne vergeben. Der Dealbreaker für mich ist, dass die App fürs Sprachenlernen bedingt geeignet ist. Was mich stört ist, dass in der Lernfunktion nicht die Option gibt, dass die Antwort/Frage abgetippt werden muss. Wenn das dazu kommt, dann gibt es volle 5 Sterne und eine Kaufempfehlung. Ps: habe die App trotzdem zum Release erworben. Ich hoffe, der liebe Entwickler baut diesen Wunsch mit ein.

Ich habe viele Karteikarten-Apps ausprobiert, keine kommt an Flashtex heran und der Entwickler integriert fast wöchentlich neue Features. Hier werden eine übersichtliche UI, eine einfache Bedienung und viele nützliche Features kombiniert. Anders als bei anderen Apps ist vor allem die Integration des Apple Pencils hervorzuheben, die bestens gelungen ist. Weiter so!
