Flashtex: Learn Flashcards

As a linguist, using flash cards is a great way to learn vocabulary. The great benefits of this app is that it has a lot of functionality - import options, study options including reversing the questions and answers, it also has a really attractive interface and helps you to organise your information neatly. If you need to add images or handwritten/hand-drawn sketches, you have all the tools at your disposal. However, the big negative for me is that swipe gestures to thumbs up or thumbs down a card are really bad. I’ve exchanged some suggestions with the developer so am keeping my fingers crossed that there are some gesture enhancements in a future release. In Mochi flash cards you can swipe cards left and right no problem allowing you to focus on what you are studying rather than the uber sensitive swipe technique. Surely there’s an accommodation for scrolling and swiping. The Appearance settings are also good allowing you to further enhance the look of your decks as you work through them.

As a mathematician, sometimes I need to write my flash cards in LaTeX. However, sometimes I also need to jot down any workings by hand, as they do not translate well in a typed environment. FlashTex is the perfect solution to both of my needs, and has allowed me to take my studying that step further. All its missing is great LaTeX support (i.e. for packages) and polishing some bugs (for example, cannot \textbf with Greek letters), but this is if I had to nitpick.

This is the best app for handwritten Flashcards that I’ve found! The interface is great and very easy to navigate. The stats are super useful, too. I just wish that it wasn’t so expensive to get unlimited number of Flashcards: without paying £3.49, you can only make 20 cards, which is barely anything. This may be the best product, but it’s also the most expensive.

I tried out a few different flashcard apps and luckily found this one. It gives you a lot of options while creating flashcards. With folders, sets and tags you have sufficient options to sort and categorize the cards. The study with options functionality lets you create very customizable learning cycles. I specifically like the limited randomized studying when having only little time available. This option was not available in most of the other apps.

Ein sehr guter App comportable mit Apple Pencil und allen wichtigen Funktionen, die beim Nutzen einer Karteikarte App von Belangen ist. Vielen Dank liebe Entwickler! Das Design ist schlicht und pragmatisch gestaltet ohne unnötigen Schnickschnack. Leider funktioniert das Unterstreichen/Kursiven der Schrift nicht richtig, deshalb gibt es einen Stern weniger. Nichtsdestotrotz würde ich den App jeder Zeit weiter empfehlen.

With this I can not only recall what I have learnt the more I do it, but it has helped me make neural connections so that when friends ask me about the subject, I can even teach them now!

I needed an app to create flashcards quickly. Tried lots of them, this is definitely the best one. Also, I was very surprised how many great features this app has.
