Repeating Stories. No Default Reader View

There is no way to always default to reader view which is bad for accessibility. Also, stories are not grouped, so there are constant repetitive stories from different sources.

Staying Course

Flipchart brings you the best if what you want from around the globe. My day starts and winds down with a quick reference of Flipboard and am certainly informed and am ahead with what I want to. I recommend all my students to follow the suit. In fact I asked both my high school kids to use Flipboard. It us the best app

Over-bloated with advertisements

Pages are crawling and so-called “content” is just used as props for ads that sometimes pop up on top of each other. These days, I just get to read the title and back out of the article before the bombardment starts. Not recommended!

Really want to like it but….

I really want to like this app, but for some reason when I try to log in (I assume I need to do this so my preferences are saved) it just says “something went wrong” and I cannot log in. This seems like a silly problem, but it’s enough to keep me from using the app.

Another FOX NEWS!!!

Your coverage of trump is excessive!!! Out of 50 articles, 48 are about him! And you shove this bastard down our throats EVERYDAY! Your just as bad a FOX NEWS!!! Give your readers a break!

still using crazy CPU power when in reader view

the reader view is the best part of flipboard. alas, once i switch to reader view, the app does something weird and causes a crazy spike in CPU usage. probably some sinister way to discourage the use of the feature since it lowers ad views. 1 star, flipboard.

Ads are intrusive.

I end up leaving the app because of in your face ads.

I love the concept but intentional discovery is difficult

I use Flip for new articles in my areas of interest and I love the presentation and ease of viewing, but the app lacks a few important features… - the ability to view your history - the ability to view your history of suggested articles - the ability to accurately find a specific article by searching I was saving two articles that I didn’t have time to read by leaving one of them open in my Flipboard app and hoping after I read it, I could go back to the previous page and read the second article I was interested in. But when I finally had time to go back to the article in Flipboard, the screen refreshed and I lost both the article I had been saving for three days and the article I wanted to read from the initial list (because everything updated), and no amount of searching could find the two articles I lost. 😢 Maybe add a ”read later” option? Alternatively, I created a hidden magazine to add stuff like this to for future. But the learning curve was very disappointing because I can’t find those two specific articles that were directly relevant to my work. Sigh.

Too Many Ads!

I agree with others - someone needs to disrupt this marketplace as Flipboard has lost its way with the ridiculous number of ads and click bait. I get the need for SOME ads, but when the stories are no longer accessible due to ads, you’ve gone too far. I am so disheartened by the unreadable content, maybe I will develop an aggregator app myself. We tried to tell you, Flipboard.

Good as an overview

Could they have a wider selection of reputable news sources such as the guardian, but otherwise it’s a good way to get the general idea of what’s happening each day.
