The unstable features of rating and wish listing movies was somewhat useful despite being somewhat painful to use due to bugs. Now that it’s completely removed, the app is useless. Just google the show times

It’s official Flixster is dead! Fandango bought them out then neutered the app. It was clear that all they wanted was the user base and the name and couldn’t care less about the app, and now they’ve decided to DELETE ALL FLIXSTER ACCOUNTS without warning! I’ll be honest I moved to IMDb a long time ago and I’m glad I did, because all my ratings and watch list movies went poof!

A very poor app that needs a tech giant to purchase and bring back to life.
So tired of typing in a movie name and it not appearing— either flixster never heard of it (unlikely, it happens with commonly known movies), or god-forbid you get one character wrong and the app has zero intelligence, so it just comes up blank.
I used to review movies, but now all my reviews are gone. And now when I try to log in, it supposedly sends a link to my email to verify, but that email never comes, or when it does it’s already expired.
Time to send this app to pasture, or maybe some company with actual tech support can buy it and give it new purpose.

Used to love this app but it hasn’t worked in a while. Write a review and it won’t save. Add a movie to your watchlist and it won’t save. Nothing works.

App has been abandoned by developers.

The “Want To See” list & Ratings feature are complete unusable.

Every movie I had previously saved to my “Want To See” list has inexplicably disappeared, and the list of movies that I’d left ratings for in the app has been cleared as well. 

I can’t even start fresh and repopulate either section. Clicking the ⊕ “Want To See” button to add new movies to the does absolutely nothing — the list remains empty. The Submit button on the Ratings page (after selecting a star rating & typing out a review for a movie) is entirely unresponsive.

It’s been 8 months since this app was last updated. It used to be great, and I had hoped that the developer would soon fix these bugs — but too much time has passed, I think it’s safe to say that Flixter has been left for dead.

Ratings/reviews & discovering/bookmarking new movies I’m interested in seeing were the only features that made Flixter a worthwhile app. I can just use Google to look up showtimes & buy movie tickets. Flixter’s just dead weight on my phone now.

While I used to use this for rotten tomatoes I’ve noticed recently they are not mirroring each other with the rotten tomatoes site and this app. This could be a simple fix. Unfortunately that was the main reason I used the app was for rotten tomatoes so I deleted it. Now I made a Home Screen book mark of the rotten tomatoes site to use instead. Was amazing to have rotten tomatoes and theater tickets all in one place, now those days are gone.

My ratings will sporadically just not show, and it really would be great if you all could bring back the “friends” feature so we can see friends’ reviews and suggestions. 

Also the preview tool doesn’t allow you to rotate the screen to horizontal, and there’s no feature to share a movie (eg, if I’ve just seen one and want to post it to social media). 

Please consider, I’ve been a long time user and really appreciate the tool, a little TLC seems like it could go a long way!

Ps - even if you charged like a dollar a month or something, I might consider it for these features if it helped cover costs

I downloaded flixster a long time ago for easier access to Rotten Tomatoes, but Flixster doesn't have Rotten Tomatoes built in, just movie reviews. Give me access to a real Rotten Tomatoes app so I don't have to open my browser every time I want to look at TV reviews.

Unbelievable! Clicking on a film trailer -specifically, Snow White- and then rotating my phone to watch the preview causes the preview to collapse. The screen then returns to a portrait view. There’s an ad playing in the background, but no movie trailer! A monkey wearing cooking mits could do a better job programming.
