## FlockHopper Description
FlockHopper shows you where license plate reader cameras are and routes around them.

Every camera in the Deflock/OpenStreetMap database is on the map. Ask for directions and you get two routes — the fastest and one that avoids known cameras. Alerts warn you when one is nearby, whether you're navigating or just driving.

Most of the app is free: directions, turn by turn navigation, camera alerts, background detection, CarPlay, Live Activity, Free Drive, saved places, Siri Shortcuts, and the full camera map.

Users that upgrade to FlockHopper Pro get custom alert tones and timing, exposure stats, multi-stop routing, longer routes, offline maps, extra map styles, and live traffic.

No account, no ads, no analytics, no trackers, no data sales. Route requests go to FlockHopper's own servers, and nothing is logged.

Built by the developer behind maps.deflock.org, working closely with the DeFlock community on camera data. One person, no investors. There is a Tip Jar if you want to support the project. It doesn't unlock anything.

Camera data is crowdsourced by DeFlock and the OpenStreetMap community. Coverage varies and won't always be current. FlockHopper reduces your exposure to surveillance networks but doesn't eliminate it. Drive safely.

Not affiliated with or sponsored by any surveillance vendor.

## FlockHopper Reviews in United States

### *---- "Deflock.org works but this app is garbage"
APP doesn’t show most cameras and will drive you right past cameras on its own website.
-- Matigras, 2026-09-15

### ***** "Recommended!!"
What a happy discovery! Love the turn by turn directions and route preview. Thank you for developing this app! Suggest the road names to be in larger font or darker. Even after zoom-in the street names stayed tiny! Would like the ability to plot my own route w/o magnification.
-- Bliss_follower, 2026-09-15

### ****- "Great, but has flaws"
A great app if you want to try and drive without having your 4th amendment rights violated. That being said, its frequent freezes when you miss a turn and the need to stop and restart directions (at least on CarPlay), the lack of a search history, and the needlessly complicated directions it gives occasionally could be improved.
-- EvanS1112, 2026-09-13

### ***** "Amazing support"
God bless these guys for protecting our freedom 🫡

### ***-- "Tiny symbols and letters, dangerous/confusing routes &"
I really wanted to like this app and to use it as my only GPS app. I can’t due to some prevalent issues

It isn’t possible to click on directions to see street names and map out your route turn by turn. The route symbols and street names on the maps are comically small. What is this, a GPS for ants?!?!

It doesn’t properly name rotary exits and has recommended I go the wrong way for a turn off a route to get directly back on it (even though there were no flock cameras to avoid???)

I use this app 20% of the time I need to navigate somewhere. I wanted it to be 100% of the time, but after many driving mishaps and struggling to read what route or street I’m on, I’ve decided my safety and navigational awareness is more important than protecting my privacy in an increasingly surveilled state

### ***** "Doing the lords work"
Weapons formed against us shall not prosper. 👁⃤
-- ASHXS2ASHXS, 2026-09-10

### ****- "Decent"
Good at routing you and giving you options, however it is slow at directions when driving, I missed a few turns because of that.
-- Gvhedgthvgs, 2026-09-10

### ***** "yass!"
this app slays but i’d love it the 300 mile distance limit to be removed ! as well as availability outside of apple ! love u guys keep it up
-- Nagol hill, 2026-09-10

### ***-- "Set location manually please."
I don’t have location services on my phone turned on for the same reason I like to avoid flock cameras. PRIVACY.

It would be nice to be able to set my location manually and then have it route me to the destination without having the app, always know my precise location.
-- NukeEngr, 2026-09-09

### ***** "Flock"
Great app if you don’t want to be on camera 24/7 and spied on by higher ups. I also love that they kept the names of Lake Ontario and the Gulf of Mexico, their real original names😂.
