This is a great little app, but there are a couple of things I’d change.
Firstly, it really annoying that my flow/break timer gets reset if I accidentally close the app in the middle of using the timer. It doesn’t even remember how many flow sessions I’ve done, it just resets the whole thing.
Secondly, it would be great to see this integrate into other apps besides Apple Health, especially time management/planning apps like Todoist.
This is incredibly helpful
I appreciate that it allows some adjustments on how long the flow state is and long/short breaks are. Thank you for making it easy to use and not annoyingly intrusive.
Great app, but…
Love the app! Super helpful during the workday. Only complaint is that I’m not getting notified on my Apple Watch consistently when a session is done. I have Flow notifications passing through my Focus mode.
Learning Python
I’m learning python so this is a cool thing to have on the side of my screen you know, except the only part is you cannot minimize it and even when exiting its running in the background knowingly ofc(Which for some its a cool feature), it’ll be cool if they just add a feature where you can minimize it other than that its a pretty good app 5 stars
Glitching
I have been really enjoying using this app. But I’ve noticed how it sometimes does not record all the sessions. I would get a notification saying the session is complete. But when I open the app it still shows some time is left for the session to be complete. I’ve even paid for the pro version and this problem is persistent. Frustrated about that. Hope it could be fixed because I would like to continue using this app
Syncing is an ESSENTIAL missing feature
I paid for premium to help with development, but it’s currently missing the ability to sync timers. I believe this is an upcoming feature based on previous blog posts. Outside of that, the UI is beautiful compared to alternatives that I’ve tested. I particularly love the dock icon on Mac which shows the on-going timer at a quick glance. Speaking of, premium is thankfully a one-time purchase across iOS and MacOS.
Functional app w/ decent price, but lacks key feature
The key selling point of this app for me, and what drove me to pay for the lifetime sub, is that it’s a one-time purchase across iOS and Mac. However, this led me to believe that the app would sync an active timer you set on one device, across all your devices. What is the point of an app/website blocking pomodoro timer if setting it on your mac doesn’t do the same on your iPhone? Do I have to simultaneously activate and manage two timers to prevent slacking on both devices?
Not moving on to the break
I wanted to like this app because I love that there are no ads and it’s very simplistic. But after my first 25 minutes were up, I open the app to start my 5 minute break, and for some reason it’s stuck in the first 25 set still. I try another set of 25, and I get the notification for my break. Again, I open the app, and it’s in the middle of my 25 set, it’s not letting me start a 5 minute break.
Pomodoro
I have never in my life written a review for an app, but I cannot express how much I already love this one. I have been looking for a pomodoro focus timer that can work across all my devices and have been unable to find one until today. Shoutout to reddit for the find, anyways I have been wishing for an app that not only can I see the timer live, edit its times and breaks, can again have across all my devices, but also that could block distracting apps and websites, because I normally just pause the timer and get distracted. So after using the free features and the app itself I started exploring it more and saw that it had a feature to block apps and websites, let me tell you I was shocked. if you are only using the free feature you’re only able to block apps on the Mac and on an iPhone neither, but after some heavy pondering i decided to splurge and get the onetime payment feature and let me you I do not regret it one bit, after playing with it I think it was the best purchase I’ve ever made. I cannot express to you how grateful I am to flow and how excited I am to make this a lifetime use. If I have any updated feelings from using it more I will definitely try to write a new review but my initial is 10/10!!!
Using it for a few days now - Could improve some things
I’ve been using this timer for a few days now and so far I do really like it. But there are some things that I would probably like to see changed.
First there is a setting that says “hide window what timer starts” I have this checked but it doesn’t seem to work? I still have to press the X for it to exit out. I would really prefer if there was an option to not have the window pop up at all and everything was just done from the menu bar. And maybe that option is there and I don’t have my settings right?? But I’ve gone through them multiple times now and I don’t see anything that changes this.
The other thing, and this is more of an add on, but it would be nice to have a small list or a way to name the current flow to the task you’re working on. That way it keeps that task at hand and in mind. I would use the “show session title in the menu bar icon” setting if I could in face customize the session title to something relevant that I’m doing.
Anyways the biggest issue is the fact that the window needs to be manually exited out. If it didn’t pop up at all that would be ideal for me. But if it actually automatically hid itself like the setting suggests, I’d be happy with that.
