WHAT IS FLUENT FOREVER?
A revolutionary language learning method developed by Gabriel Wyner, an opera singer who needed to learn multiple languages quickly and retain them forever. Fluent Forever's products have evolved from pronunciation trainers into a bestselling book and now into the most crowdfunded app in history. Discover the immersive mobile experience designed to rewire your brain into fluently speaking any new language and hack your memory to remembering it forever.
...................
HOW IS FLUENT FOREVER BETTER?
Rather than distract or briefly entertaining you like other "gamified" language apps out there, Fluent Forever doesn't waste your time with inefficient "bite size" lessons - instead, it immediately gets you correctly pronouncing and hearing the sounds of your target language, then efficiently has you learn the most frequently used words and push them into your longterm memory, and finally has you naturally build sentences using words you know and practice your speech to fluency. In short, if you're serious about speaking a new language, Fluent Forever will get you there faster.
...................
FLUENT FOREVER'S METHOD
The foundation of our proven method, as detailed in Gabe's bestselling book, is based on the principles of personalized flashcard creation and spaced repetition, extremely powerful learning tools that optimize your brain’s memory abilities. So not only will you learn a language quickly, you’ll never forget it.

1. Train Your Ears With Pronunciation Lessons

You need to learn what a language sounds like before you can learn how to speak it. Our powerful tools like detailed instructional videos, mnemonic imagery and minimal pair tests will train your ears in the sound system of your new language.

2. Learn Vocabulary Through Images Instead of Translations

Within weeks you will understand the sounds of your new language, and you can begin learning words. By creating personalized flashcards using our memorable word association system, you will rapidly learn the most used words in your new language. You will then push these new words into your long term memory by reviewing your flashcards using our automated spaced repetition system.

3. Learn Grammar Naturally Through Stories Relevant To You

Once you learn the most used words in your language you can begin learning sentences. By visualizing how your new words fit into sentences about topics you’re interested in, you will naturally learn grammar through immersive stories, as opposed to boring lessons or complex conjugation tables. You will never be forced to learn words or grammar you don’t need or want to learn.

Best vocabulary builder!

Retired in Sicily on

The great thing about this app is that it’s addictive! I didn’t have to force myself to sit down and study new words. It was fun and my vocabulary skyrocketed effortlessly. Fluent Forever helped so much when I moved to Italy!!!

FALSE advertising

Mia_lo on

Advertises on download page “Learn any language fast”. I was super excited because I’ve been trying to learn Greek and heard many good things about this app. I downloaded the app and was immediately disappointed. There was a very limited selection of languages (Greek not one of them) I’m extremely disappointed that they were advertising something they could not provide. I’m absolutely disgusted. Change your cover page and only offer what you can give.

App good when working

kwoodnyc on

App developed a bug that makes it unusable. Going on a week now of customer service blowing me off and ignoring me. Shame, I thought the app was getting close to being quite good. Bought a two-year subscription and have had to cancel.

Best language learning app - and I don’t say that easily

Danchops on

As I’m starting to learn my 7th language, I was looking for strategies to maintain my existing languages and learn my next one. I read Gabe’s book and was so impressed - not only did he teach the strategies that I have learned the hard way over the past 15 years, but he also taught be REALLY useful new tools. I am using those new approaches to great effect already. The videos are engaging and well done. I have never been impressed with any language app/website as they didn’t do anything to really help with pronunciation, memorization, and understanding. This guy gets it and does a really good job teaching it. I recommend reading his book too. It gives a deeper dive into the approaches used in the app. I am not easily impressed and rarely write reviews but I am honestly so thrilled to have found the Fluent Forever book and app. I hope they keep growing and improving the app with more content. Many thanks from a happy customer!!

No offline mode, image links expire

weaklyconvergent on

It’s ironic that an app to help you travel doesn’t work while traveling. Without an offline mode this app is unusable on the subway, when roaming with low-data and if wifi is down. Additionally, since flash card images are links instead of downloaded data, they expire and you’re randomly presented with flashcard missing images. The developers are prioritizing new languages rather than improving the existing system. The supplemental videos are valuable, but since they’ve not fixed this over 3 years I’ll just use Anki for my next language.

Feel local: Strong and getting better

MikeyTru on

I started with the app after reading the book that describes this method and creating my own Anki because I read the book that describes this method. I don’t like learning a language (I have taken a semester or two of a couple languages) and still sounding like an American. This method helps you avoid mentally translating from your native language to the learned language and to pronounce the words correctly. You are supposed to start thinking in that language. So, this is VERY different from other apps out there. The points below represent on and off usage of the app over 3 years (got this to learn Italian for a big Italy trip that never happened due to the pandemic). I lost steam because I was so bummed about my long planned trip not happening, but have picked the app back up now and then trying to get disciplined again. Thoughts, pros and cons: - You actually learn the language better and probably faster (PRO) but there was a tendency to feel like you have most of the words but couldn’t put them together easily (MOSTLY FIXED CON with feature adds) - Because they are always adding real features to help keep you learning (really learning) it has become more practical in actually learning to speak the language - Use the drawing function in the app to create cards for words that are super difficult (how do you create a picture for the word “very”). For example, I use this feature to create a timeline on a flash card to show a blank in the middle for what would be the language equivalent of the word for “now” and the left side of the timeline would have the word equivalent of “before” and the right side would have the word equivalent of “later”. - Create your own sentences now that they have added that feature Now let’s hope I can get disciplined to do the work.

Better than Duolingo

Thalius22 on

Easy to use, intuitive, fun and based on sound language science. There’s a book called “Fluent Forever” that gives the background. If you’re looking to learn a new language or brush up your skills, this is the app for you!

Yes

operasiren on

There’s a reason so many reviews are super high and a few are not. This app is for the person who wants to learn the language from the ground up in the exact way they themselves want to. It is A LOT of work. Therefore, the reward is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I can’t live without this app

Yeli-95 on

I’ve been using this app for years and every update makes it so much better. This app should be the most popular language learning app on the App Store. I can’t sing it’s praises enough. Everything from the pronunciation videos to the sentence sets is incredibly helpful. There’s a couple of things that I think could still help the app. For example: being able to delete cards from your list instead of waiting for them to come up on review to delete, being able to search for a card from your list, being able to search for a word or sentence at the same time but then choosing to create either a word or sentence, and being able to search by dictionary form to find any and all of its conjugations. I also think gamification could be better- for example, breaking people into leagues or even just having a streak list that’s different by language. But anyhow, those are little things. This is the best language learning app on the App Store. Thank you Gabe and team.

Don’t subscribe they never let you cancel

MrktingMan on

I cancelled multiple years ago because I couldn’t put the time towards language learning. They keep trying to charge me every year for a service that I cannot login into. I haven’t even lived at the address they have on file in more than 3 years. They lied to my bank that I haven’t tried to cancel previously. Their customer service is crappy and their payment approach is predatory. Their technique may be good but not worth the headache.
