ADHD Planner & Study Timer App Reviews

Greattt

Kelly Rafaela on

Great app, glad it’s there for me. Keep it up!

Really hemos you focus

Di Mary on

Dominican Republic

Knowing I'm doing something with a set time helps me keep my mind on one thing at the time. I tend to start doing something and if the middle of that start something else because it pops up and needed to be done... No more of that. I have a list and focus keeper to help me tackle one thing at the time and actually feel like I accomplished something (or a good couple of things during the day)

I really want to love this app, but…

LAdesigngirl on

I love the interface and ease of use in changing the time of a session. I use it on my phone all of the time, but was excited to be able to use it on my new MacBook Pro. However, I just added the app to my new laptop and despite setting the ticking sounds to “none,” every time I restart the Focus Keeper app, the horrible ticking sounds come back. Also, I can’t find any way to add this to the Control Center in the menu bar and I don’t want to have to open my browser to use an extension since the whole point of using this app is to help me focus and being in a browser can be distracting. Definitely not worth $35/yr. Focus Keeper — please fix these issues and add more user friendly features to make this app worth a subscription.

Usual overreach of enablers for what should be a simple timer

Very useful app

Very helpful to stay focused. Enough settings to change things up, but not distracting.

Great app for staying on task

cosmicnovaa on

United States

I love using this app for staying on task while doing homework, but after an app update removed features I cared about, like live timer update on my lock screen and widget support, I left a review (that I seem to have misplaced) on this app. After I returned to the app in hopes that my concerns were addressed, I found all the features I was missing returned, so I am updating my review to rate Focus Keeper 5 stars. Thanks!

Subscription Model

bvjgcigh on

United States

Paid for the app some time ago as a one time purchase. The recent update switched to a subscription model. I am more than willing to pay for large updates (big releases of apps), but a subscription for this sort of application is not the right direction. I understand the developers need to make money for the updates they make, but a subscription model is not the way to go if there are no substantial reoccurring costs beyond the time cost of development. If huge improvements are made and new features are added, I’d rather make another one time purchase. If instead, you had released a v2 separately as a one time purchase (even a much steeper price would have been ok), I would have been more than happy to have bought the new app. I want to make it very clear that subscriptions for apps that run almost entirely locally is not a trend I’m willing to get behind. I don’t blame the developer(s), since this is a common trend, but I also want to make clear to them the loss of a potential sale and the reason why.

PLEASE LET US GO BACK TO THE OLD VERSION

Keshav Kundassery on

This was my favorite app, ever. It has completely changed my productivity and I would literally pay a monthly fee to keep using it. However, the new update adds a bunch of unnecessary features that really kill the vibe. I just want the simple timer again. I understand that some people may like these features, but just insert an option to revert back to Focus Timer 1.0 for people like me. Please! Update 12/2024: Once again, I'm not sure why you guys keep adding new features. I miss the simple, elegant timer this app used to be. I understand that financially it's important to keep adding features, but you all should really take your talents to a new and exciting project and let a perfect app stay perfect. I would really appreciate tbe option to re-download the version circa 2021 before the major update. The biggest thing I'd like changed is the number of sessions/cycles being displayed more prominently at the bottom of the screen again. Also, the new logo is a real eye sore.

Awesome

This had truly improved me efficiency. Work, move, exercise, rest my eyes. Back to work. Thanks for a great app

New icon is messed up

timshutes on

United States

New icon is bizarre cutting off the top of the old icon and adding unnecessary duplicate “focus keeper” lettering. Forced to uninstall because the Home Screen was looking jacked up. Also read that they moved to a subscription model with somewhat steep pricing.
