You can purchase a Footpath Elite monthly or yearly subscription through your iTunes account. Your subscription will automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Auto-renew can be turned off anytime by going to the Manage Subscriptions page in settings after purchase, and your features will remain active until the end of the subscription period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period at the same cost as your original purchase.


TIPS FOR MAPPING ROUTES
• For longer routes, try zooming in and mapping your route in multiple segments.
• Tap and hold the map to quickly route between waypoints and POIs.
• Did Footpath snap to the wrong roads? Trace over the incorrect segment to edit, or use the eraser tool.
• Turn off snap to roads (magnet icon) and zoom in to manually trace the map. (Try switching to a satellite layer).
• Displaying maps and continuously running GPS in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Navigate without maps or with the screen off for all day battery life.

Sometimes places appear that suddenly can’t find them anymore, When you start a walk and go out for a second, coming back it’s gone, well all in all it seems very « technique » to get it together and not easy to handle…. And how to do record a walk ? Once your out and want to record ?, It’s the second time I’ve signed up for premium but I’m again disappointed… I wrote this some time ago. Now I’m on a new road. It’s pathetic! Not easy to start recording with just a click like Wikiloc. Then when you draw and want to get rid of the plan to start a new - not possible. Sometimes not possible to erase or to take off a part, sometimes it does it’s own way without a possibility to change, it just sticks no no no this app needs a thorough update !!! Wikiloc is is much easier, it just doesn’t allow to draw… Sorry guys, we always have to learn…

Loved this app when you could still use the “sat nav” feature with the free membership, but you were limited to a number of custom maps. However now you have your custom maps but cannot use the “satnav” feature… this renders the free account useless. Why not have free accounts which are limited to only 5 custom maps, the “sat nav” feature is useable but you have to watch an advert BEFORE the map will load or save? Another problem is when creating your own custom map using waypoints, it repeatedly places U turn symbols… this is very frustrating.

I’ve used this app for years to plan out walks and navigate while I’m out. The free version is fantastic and allows you to save up to five routes. If you’re out often, the paid Elite version is brilliant and is absolutely worth it. The route will be colour graded to indicate slope aspect, you can download routes offline, organise your routes into lists amongst loads of other perks…

One of the best things about this app for me compared to many other similar ones is that the default map style includes all permissive paths; not just official PROWs and bridleways etc. meaning it’s a lot easier to navigate out there and draw out interesting routes when planning.

It’s easy to use, easy to map out routes, easy to follow routes when out, easy to keep routes organised… honestly could not recommend this app more!!!

Walking route just stops when it should continue!

I had got into a rut walking my dogs. Mainly because I have no sense of direction! Now I use Footpath to find new areas to explore. Went Elite because using different overlays adds so much information about what might be there. Love the ability to have my walk tracked by gps too.

Bought the lifetime elite version of this app a while ago and it’s great. Just tried using it and they now want a monthly subscription from me to do things that were included in my originally purchased version. This isn’t a top up, they want money every month to enable features I’ve already paid for. 

I understand they need to make money but this kind of dishonesty and disregard for older fully paid up members isn’t something I think people should support.

When they needed the money to grow their business they offered early supporters lifetime deals. Now they’ve grown they have removed functionality we paid for and demand a monthly subscription to get them back!

Bad form. Can’t be trusted.
