Given all negative reviews are 4+ years old, lets set the record straight. The current version is essential for flying across Europe and the US, especially IFR. Autorouter, Jepp charts, W&B, runway and weather analysis. It’s expensive but saves lots of work and more importantly, saves you from infringements and worse… besides the price, though for VMC flying - SkyDemon is unbeatable.
Recently purchased the basic plus package but sadly realised that I had bought the EU version instead of USA version. Emailed ForeFlight support and within 10 mins someone got back to me saying they’d sorted it and swapped it for the USA package. Excellent app and excellent service highly rate it for anyone time building like myself.
Great app and absolutely loved using it. But, my free trial has finished so time to part ways unfortunately. No question in my mind that if a real world pilot then this has to be considered essential accessory, but I’m an X-Plane sim pilot and only a part time fun flyer at that, not an all in enthusiast. Sadly, can’t justify the cost of a formal subscription as it’s just not warranted, but if there were a reasonably priced ‘sim only’ subscription path I’d absolutely go for that as I have to say it absolutely enhanced the sense of realism using X-Plane with ForeFlight on an iPad. Great fun. Or, would you think of making your test platforms ‘sim only’ for public beta testing at all?
I’ve been monitoring ForeFlight since it came out in the US in 2007 along with other similar EFB apps. Now that it is available in Europe, I highly recommend it. What sets this apart from other apps is that you get Jeppesen VFR data overlayed on a really fast map. It also gives you warnings for obstacles, height, terrain, altimeter setting, runways etc. It definitely needs airspace notifications. I could go on with the amount of things it does. At this moment it’s not perfect but is near. I’ve already experienced their support team and they’re really good. Best thing you could do right now is download the app and try it for 30 days. I was after the VFR charts for Europe and it prompted me to buy a USA subscription to do so which I did, only to find that the only maps available in the UK were grainy terrain and street map ones you’d find in Google/Apple Maps. Have asked for a refund. Three stars because it shows promise and if I managed to fly 3,500 miles over the pond I’d probably find it useful.
This has helped me out many times. So easy to plan, file and fly with. One suggestion for an improvement would be if when you land and your taxi diagram pops up, it could show your GPS position on the taxi diagram. Otherwise, brilliant!!

I used this app whilst I was flying around in the States and it was great. It does everything for you and very simple to use. I really wish it was available for the UK and Europe. Please ForeFlight, create a UK & Europe addition!
Suppose it might be alright if you're in the us, but what about the rest if the world! Not even sure why this is on the UK App Store!!!
Info outside of US is poor to useless so worthless too
