Description
FortifyFL is a school-related suspicious activity reporting tool that allows Florida students and the community the ability to instantly relay information anonymously concerning unsafe, potentially harmful, dangerous, violent or criminal activities, or the threat of these activities, to the appropriate law enforcement agencies and school officials.
By accessing FortifyFL, students can provide a description of the threat, share pics and videos and submit contact information (if he/she chooses to receive follow-up from law enforcement or school officials). Once information is transmitted via the application, the appropriate law enforcement and school administration entities are instantly contacted and provided with the submitted material.
FortifyFL was created and funded by the 2018 Florida Legislature as part of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act. The application was named by students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and developed by AppArmor. The Office of Attorney General, Department of Education and Florida Department of Law Enforcement coordinated its development and roll-out.

Thanks to this app yesterday Jan/14/2020 a student of Interlachen, Fl Middle school made a anonymous tip about a student with a gun, the student was arrested within 10 min. This is life saving!

NOT anonymous, tracking your phone and ID
Sent in an anonymous tip and 15minutes later the cops were at my door. Wth!!! The photo upload cut the image I sent in half. App hasn’t been updated in weeks and has major glitches. Only available in English. Florida is almost 20% Spanish speaking??? I don’t want my kids having this since it tracks information claiming it’s anonymous. What if the person reported would have seen the cops show up..not anonymous anymore. This app gets a thumbs down!
Waste of FL money
Only in English👎🏻 No lock to prevent someone else sending a tip from my phone 👎🏻 Lots of bugs 👎🏻 Phone number field allows letters and symbols 👎🏻 Email field doesn’t check for @ or domain 👎🏻 You can change your tip message and school repeatedly 👎🏻 Deleting the app and reinstalling removes your list of previously submitted tips 👎🏻 Hasn’t been update since 10/9 despite dozens of errors 👎🏻 No way for school to communicate with me or know they’ve received my tip 👎🏻 App is downloadable outside FL and outside US.. what prevents cyber attack? 👎🏻 Terrible waste of money and two months late from start of school after two school shootings already occurred.
