## Fossil Identifier Reviews in United States

### *---- "Beware! No refunds!!!Very disappointed"
I found this app to be very disappointing. I have very obvious and easily obtainable fossils that I used to “test” the app on the day I purchased it. Results didn’t even begin to identify them correctly. I tried to delete the subscription, which is allowed but NO REFUND!!! That’s probably why it didn’t offer a free seven day trial like many other apps do.

### **--- "Inaccurate"
It couldn’t even identify my douvillina or mucrospirifer. It said they were meteorites. Basic brachipods and this app couldn’t figure it out. You also can’t attach your own photos to your collection. It just gives random stock images.
-- goblingoon14, 2025-07-16

### ***-- "Sorry, not accurate."
I’m sorry I can’t be more supportive of this app, but I appreciate the effort.

I purchased a week’s worth of premium for $3.99 to try it out, and the best match it gave me for a shark tooth was “trilobite.” The other matches were shark teeth, but included incorrect species. Other identifications also lacked accuracy.

I was hoping to use the app to catalog my finds more quickly for a permit renewal, but the results are just too inaccurate and limited. It is fun, and I hope the database improves through member contribution, but it won’t help serious amateurs at this time, July 2025.

### ***** "Super Easy and Accurate"
This app is so simple to use, and it’s really accurate. I’ve identified several fossils with it and learned so much about their age and species.

### ****- "Must-Have for Outdoor Adventures"
I use this every time I go exploring. It’s quick, fun, and makes finding fossils even more exciting. Highly recommend for anyone into nature or science!

### ***** "Incredibly Detailed Info"
I love how much information the app gives you—classification, age, and even rarity. Great for collectors and science lovers!

### ****- "Great for Beginners"
I’m just starting out in fossil collecting, and this app has helped me a lot. It’s like having a paleontologist in your pocket!

### ***** "Amazing Fossil Finder!"
I took a photo of a fossil I found on a hike, and the app identified it right away. The details it gives are fascinating. Perfect for any fossil enthusiast!

### ***** "Great for fossil lovers!"
I took a picture of a fossil I found, and the app told me exactly what it was. Super cool and easy to use!
-- TrrfBumabeee2341, 2025-05-26

### ***** "Accurate and Educational"
As a science teacher, I’ve started using this app in class, and my students love it. The identification is fast and the extra information about the fossil’s age and history makes learning engaging. Highly recommend for educational use!
