Es gibt drei Spielertypen: den Fuchs, die Jäger, die ihn jagen müssen, und die Zuschauer. Der Fuchs muss die Jäger zum Spiel einladen. Sobald die Einladungen angenommen wurden, sehen alle ihren Standort auf der Karte und können per Sprache kommunizieren. Anschließend müssen sie sich physisch entfernen. Anschließend legt der Fuchs ein Ziel in einer bestimmten Entfernung und Zeit von der aktuellen Position fest. Sobald der Fuchs das Spiel startet, muss er sein Ziel erreichen, bevor die Jäger es abfangen (in einer Entfernung von weniger als 10 Metern). Die Jäger kennen dank einer Karte jederzeit ihre Position, mit Ausnahme der Position des Fuchses. Sie kennen jedoch die Entfernung jedes Jägers zum Fuchs und die Entfernung des Fuchses zum Ziel. Der Fuchs kennt die Position aller Spieler. Die Position des Fuchses wird zufällig für eine Sekunde angezeigt, um den Jägern das Spiel zu erleichtern.
