## FractRoam Description
FractRoam is a real-time explorer for the Mandelbrot and Julia sets — and its heart is the autopilot. Press play and let it roam: FractRoam continuously seeks out the most visually interesting regions of the fractal and glides you through them, an endless, ever-changing tour you can simply sit back and watch.

Want to take the wheel? Pinch and drag to wander on your own, and recolor the whole scene with a tap. Everything is drawn pixel-by-pixel on your device's GPU, in real time.

FEATURES
• Roam autopilot — hit play and drift through a continuous, auto-discovered tour of the fractal
• Real-time Mandelbrot and Julia set rendering, GPU-accelerated and smooth
• Pinch and pan to explore yourself, or hand it back to the autopilot anytime
• Color moods — six hand-tuned palettes plus animated color cycling
• Share any view — a picture plus a link that reopens the exact same spot
• Fully offline — no account, no ads, no data collection
• A calm, full-screen interface — just you and the fractal

Whether you want something mesmerizing to get lost in, a generative-art source for textures and wallpapers, or a hands-on way to explore the math of self-similarity, FractRoam turns the Mandelbrot and Julia sets into something alive.

There's a matching macOS screensaver too — find it at fractroam.com.

## FractRoam Reviews in United States

### ***** "App Creator"
i always enjoy Apps of this nature. Sometimes just playing around in this App, ‘something’ in an image, triggers an experience 🤔. Good thing.😀
i don’t know (or care) what the previous post (the cat karen🥸),’problems’ are. But delete👎🏾 (imho) that post. Negativity😾 drips from what turns out to be a good👍🏻👍👍🏽 App.
-- 9Doubter, 2020-11-27

### **--- "Nice, but ...."
Limit zoom, no display of coordinates or
Zoom factor, little control of color pallet, landscape mode only, controls are difficult to see.
-- Green Lantern 75, 2019-08-02

### *---- "Low resolution"
I can't really view anything important, since it gets to be really low resolution at high zoom. Recalculate the fractal, come on!
-- wasp604, 2018-12-10

### ****- "Portrait mode is NOT standard"
Donlively said this “forces ... into landscape”, stating it couldn’t be used in “standard” mode, ie portrait. I don’t see a problem reorienting to portrait mode to use this- its default landscape orients my phone upside down, to my preference so I reorient anyway. Viewing either mode as standard ignores the reality that using either mode consistently can result in real injury. I have bone spurs on my left thumb (real ones) and undx injury to my right wrist that get worse when forced to use only portrait mode. Devs should be aware of this; we’ve been through epidemics of injury caused by poor tech design and people suffer (not as badly as Tyson chicken processors). I use external keyboards for my phone- yes, iPad keyboards work even if the phone is too small for the case- and it helps but we need more conscious design.

Fractals: In elementary school I wasn’t taught to see a subject and draw; instead I was told “this is how you draw a cat, a chair, a tree... ”. Dumb thing to do; I finally learned to see/draw as an adult. I was “taught” to draw trees as fractals- all well and good if you want to draw a tree as a fractal but not any real tree. Fractals may come into play on a cellular level of a tree but not so much on the gross visual level.
-- PhelineCat, 2018-11-27

### **--- "Limited zoom"
One should be able to continue to resume with full details. With this app once you zoomed all the way in the gets very pixelated and you can zoom no further.
-- r111, 2018-11-27

### *---- "Not worth 99cents USA"
This is limited entertaining and learning.
First, it forces the user to landscape mode. Why? It serves no good purpose what could not be accomplished in standard display.
Second, though the title of the app states its purpose the immersion is limited: start, stop, pinch, start, stop .... One really has little control of what is generated and no options I could find at the time of my using to manipulate the generation.
A dollar less a penny wasted.
-- donllively, 2018-08-20

### *---- "limited depth"
what's the point?
-- Djmski, 2017-10-05

### ***** "I love fractals!"
Fractals that you can create by screen swiping? Count me in😃😃😄🐚❄️
-- BadgerLord989, 2016-06-06

### ***** "The Best Fractal App"
In my opinion, FractRoam is the absolute best fractal art app available on the App Store today. I love it!
-- juan.ma, 2016-06-04

### ***** "Wonderful!"
Truly astounding!
-- Jason Burnfield, 2016-06-03
