Really like the app but would like it better if you could sync between iPad and iPhone. Read a few chapters on iPad last night and tried to continue on iPhone going to work this morning but book back at beginning. Couldn't even select chapter to jump too so had to go through all story again to catch up. Am I missing something out in settings that would let me do this. Would give 5 stars if this possible.

The experience is spoilt with the letter boxing on an iPhone 5 screen. 

You need to push an iPhone 5 update as soon as possible.

I must say this book is an absolutely wonderful asset to the iPad, with absolutely gorgeous graphics it's a stunner!

To be able to alter the page by page direction of the book I think its fabulous.

With crisp sound effects and a fantastic story to start with this app is way more worth it weight in Gold

What a fantastic job just like an artisan with his/her masterpiece

Enjoyed this book it is a really good read but don't buy it thinking every time you read it you'll have a different experience.
I have read it a few times and intentionally made the opposite decisions and you hit the same mile stones every time and all the same people die, it just describes the event differently.
Good first time though.

Beautiful and engaging reading experience! In reference to a previous review, most secondary school children in england read Frankenstein as part of GCSE English. No loosely based film could be a legacy for a book that is embedded even in our own language, no less important than Dracula!

More of these books please, several from other developers but don't want to risk a comparatively inferior product!

Quite simply brilliant visually and literary. The choices you make lead you down different paths in the story so be sure to choose wisely because you can't go back (unless you reset the whole story), which is a good thing because it means you can read it again once you're done.

### ***** "Stunning achievement"
I was slightly hesitant initially, having tried to read Frankenstein before. And would the interactive emphasis spoil the atmosphere of the story?

I needn't have feared because this has been lovingly produced - with illustrations and presentation that evoke the period and story so well. The choices that are presented are beautifully integrated into the story and don't allow it to stray too far from the main theme. Instead they add to the involvement you feel as you seem to influence the monster's path, or assist Frankenstein in his experiments.

I can't recommend this highly enough and hope that the creators, inkle, are sufficiently successful to do something similar with some of the other classics. One of the best apps I've found for the iPad.

This represents a stunning visual and literary advance for a modern generation. An awesome remake of a classic, one can only hope they continue to release further Ebooks of this quality, on a regular basis. I bow in admiration, even if Oxford is more stunning. Sorry guys.

Frankenstein has a user interface calm enough to allow the story to populate your imagination. The author's attempt at late eighteenth-century diction is a great success (e.g. 'See there! The hand is flexing. The chest rises and falls. Hark! Hear it? The creature's first breath!') The design – with its contemporary copper-plate anatomical illustrations and worn-paper effect – transports you into the workshop of Victor Frankenstein. An ambiguous spatter stain lurks behind the page as you read, suggesting a bodily and a penly origin.

I could say more but the monster has just taken his second breath and I have asked Victor to speak to him...

It's a delicious reworking of a classic although I wish the developers had chosen Dracula instead a much better story. Who reads Frankenstein today anyway? The novel has been influential with some imaginative Hollywood films which is its real legacy. The illustrations and the choose your own adventure style are entertaining, it's a huge labour of love and I look forward to any future apps

After receiving support from both the developers and Apple I can happily say that having restoring my iPad completely this app finally installed successfully (and it was nothing to do with a synch problem with iTunes it was a problem with my iPad).

I'll now agree with all the positive reviews of this title that with effort to make a change to what reading a book can be like on a tablet this fully deserves to be a huge success and will hopefully mean more great literary works being turned into an interactive reading experience.  I read the first chapter last night and am really looking forward to continuing.

My first work of interactive fiction, what a fascinating way to retell a classic story.

Dave Morris' writing is spot on, extending and adapting Mary Shelley's original in a way that feels authentic and true to the source.

Inkle's design is beguiling, this is a beautiful, slick app that makes reading a joy.

The interactive part itself feels surprisingly natural and unobtrusive to me, it's still very much the original story but you feel more involved as you subtley guide the narrative.
