I use to set recording’s using this app even when I was out of the house.  You can no longer set any recordings.  App is now useless.

The recent upgrade removed the ability to remotely record to the freesat box, nor was it immediately obvious that this retrograde step had been taken. 

Furthmore the functionality of the app seems to be somewhat diminished, in that categories of programmes cannot be easily listed discreetly from the rest of the programmes menu.

I was delighted with my original purchase of 2 Freesat boxes and give it 5* in its original format, but doubt I would buy again in its current incarnation.

The absurd decision to withdraw remote recording functionality means this app is practically useless- there are much better TV Guides out there - the only reason we’d want this one is so that we could use it to set our boxes to record.  Removing this functionality was a huge step backwards for Freesat.  Don’t bother with this app - it won’t do what it ought to.

### *---- "Latest update turned a useful app into a tv guide"
Recent updates mean that the app no longer supports the remote control function for humax boxes and the back arrow seems to only work when it wants to after performing a search. You can no longer set recordings using the app - yet there’s no warning, the app registers that you have successfully set up the recording. It’s not until you check your device that you realise. Overall, every update has made things worse. It’s only function now is as a Freesat program guide and there are lots of those. A complete dogs breakfast. Well done Freesat, are you actively trying to alienate your customers? Is this a prelude to forcing them back to sky? A useless app from an apathetic company.

I complained directly to Freesat and actually received a response!

However it wasn’t particularly helpful:-

“Thank you for contacting Freesat with your enquiry. 
 
I'm sorry to hear that you are not happy with the recording function being removed from the app. Due to a change in our internal systems the remote record feature was removed from the app. I understand that this may impact your experience with our product, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.
 
If you require any further assistance from us, please feel welcome to reply.”

### **--- "No longer links to Humax Freesat box"
This had a beautiful capability of allowing you to set up recordings on your Humax Freesat box from anywhere via the internet. This has been removed in this latest version and there seems to be no way to reinstall the older version that worked very well. I can’t see me using this after this upgrade now.

What a waste of time my iPad is totally useless there is no way I can record over the internet like I could with the old version. Whoever came up with this idea should be sacked for Freesat going backwards and not forward. I suggest you should get some to fix it and quickly

Once of a time I could program my Freesat box from anywhere with internet access. This new app doesn't do this so apart from being a list of programs it fails on all aspects.
