This app forces Critical Alerts. I DO NOT WANT alarms going off if I’m too far from my phone. I want to leave my phone inside when I get my mail without having to turn it off. Yes, there is a work around but buried in the menu system. Come on. Let me make my phone consistent with the way I live. Also, this app forced me to create a New Libre account and would not migrate my 2 year old account over. Not a good experience.
I’ve been using this app on my iPhone SE(2nd Generation) for several months with only a few minor problems. A couple of weeks ago about eight days into using a new sensor, the sensor and the app stopped communicating with each other without warning. I thought the sensor had gone bad so I went out and purchased a new sensor. I applied the new sensor and the app wouldn’t even recognize it so I couldn’t scan. I tried explaining the problem to “customer service”, but they kept me running in circles. They would ask me the same questions that I had already answered over and over. They wanted a screen shot of the “error message”. I told them there was no such message. It just stopped working. They couldn’t understand that. I’ve researched the compatibility of the app and sensor with my phone’s current operating system (iOS 17.6.1). Some sources indicate that they’re not compatible, but some sources claim that they are. It would be helpful if Abbott Freestyle Libre 2 developers would correct this problem, IF that is the issue.
Libre 2 is absolute trash. The alarms randomly go off, and or I get red critical alerts that alarms aren’t available. I’ve read every trouble shooting guide out there and bottom line this is a poorly made product. At this point I’d rather stick my finger moving forward. I will tell everyone I can to stay away from this product unless you get an update out there that fixes the issues.
Very disappointed with the upgrade to libre2, the two comments from two years ago are same things I’m experiencing with these sensors!! False reading, alarm going off constantly saying lost signal and I’m sitting right by my phone, keeps going off thru the night making the family alarmed and scared!! It has lost connection 3 times as I’m typing these!!!
Have been dealing with this app and the company for three months now. The app does not work the way it is supposed to and it can’t be used across platforms/different phones. So stupid! Should be able to use on any phone/computer/sensor you have and data should be shared. Should not have to wait two weeks to switch to a new phone! Online customer service was a joke. Took 30 minutes to just get verified as a user. Called and was immediately verified. But they couldn’t help me. Someone else set up account but did not write down username. Company should be able to provide username or way to retrieve it. I would recommend getting Dr to change your glucose monitoring system if you haven’t started using this one!
I’ve experienced issues in the past with lagging response but now the ‘scan sensor’ buttons will not work at all. Issue may have begin after a recent app update. I tried uninstalling the app and the issue persists. Not very reliable.
The review from two years ago is still accurate. I would say ditto to everything they said. High readings, then low readings then the alarm going off for no reason whatsoever. In fact, lots of random lost signal alarms. I’m literally not moving not going anywhere and it just can’t read the sensor. Probably because they clearly state that their Sensor is not compatible with iPhone, which is ridiculous because it’s the most common phone in the world. Yes it is better than sticking your finger, but not by much, because you don’t know if you can count on the readings or not. For as expensive as they are, you would expect more. Just recently within the last three months, more of my sensors seem to be defective. They stopped working altogether for no reason and they go off even more for no reason. Alerts that the signal is lost. They really need to work on quality control and improving their product. The only reason I use them is because my insurance won’t cover the other sensors that are out there. When they do cover another reader, I will dump freestyle in a heartbeat.
Come on Abbott. Put more money into improving this App, or get a better development team. The App is slow and unresponsive on IOS, and every time my IOS operating system is updated i get warnings from this App that it may not work properly so should downgrade my IOS version. Your development team needs to do a better job of keeping up with Operating System upgrades…particularly since your sensors are so important to users health!
The app is glitchy and lags lately. Not sure what happened.
