Fret Pro can do all the hard work for you! With just 10 minutes a day, you’ll have the fretboard memorized in no time. It's easy and fun! SPEAK THE LANGUAGE OF YOUR INSTRUMENT Having the notes on your guitar or bass fretboard memorized is the most important step toward becoming fluent in the language of your instrument. When you master the fretboard, you can spend less time thinking and more time enjoying playing music. PLAYER HIGHLIGHTS - "I’ve had lessons on-and-off for 10 years, but never did the work of really knowing the notes on the fretboard. I didn’t think it really mattered. But now, concepts I slightly understood before are falling into place, and I’m able to communicate with my teacher in the same language. Recommended." - "I’ve been struggling to memorize the notes on the fretboard for awhile now. This app really helped me get the practice I needed!" LEARN GUITAR FRETBOARD FAST Fret Pro is the fastest way to memorize the music notes on your guitar fretboard. Using scientifically-proven spaced-repetition techniques, Fret Pro helps you memorize each note in the most efficient way. Practice sessions are organized in bite-sized chunks so you can practice as much or as little as you want! BUILD REAL MUSCLE MEMORY Fret Pro is a different kind of fretboard trainer. You build muscle memory and fretboard vision by playing notes on your *real guitar or bass*. FREE FEATURES - Play notes on your real guitar or bass (or both). The natural notes on your first two strings are FREE. - Track progress toward fretboard mastery - Use your device's built-in microphone (an audio interface) - Have your device speak the notes for screen-free practice UPGRADE FEATURES - Unlock all notes on all strings - Focus practice on a specific string or strings - Focus practice on natural notes only or all notes SUPPORTED INSTRUMENTS - 6 string guitar - 7 string guitar - 8 string guitar - 4 string bass - 5 string bass - 6 string bass - Mandolin - Guitarlele/Ukitar - Want something else? Contact us at support@fretpro.app TIPS - The Fret Pro app works best with an acoustic guitar or bass, or an electric guitar or bass with amplifier. It will also work for an unamplified electric guitar and bass in very quiet environments. - The app listens for you to play the correct note, but that doesn't mean you can't make things more exciting. Try practicing different picking patterns, techniques, and rhythms. - Use your favorite effects and pedals like delay, reverb, or distortion! We'll still recognize if you play the right note… though pitch modulating effects probably won't work :) - Try to visualize a fretboard in your mind as you play each note. Can you play each note without looking at your fretboard? - Use the String Focus in settings to hone in on a specific string until you know it by heart. Memorizing the notes on your guitar or bass is a great way to take your playing to the next level. Supplement your current music practice or lessons with ten minutes per day and you'll be surprised at how fast you learn the notes. NOTE FROM THE DEVELOPER Hi! Fret Pro is an indie app made by one guy (me!), who is deeply passionate about music. It is my top priority to build an app that is actually *useful*. There is no nonsense and no tricks to steal your time or money. I actually want the Fret Pro app to be so good that you can STOP using it because it served its purpose (helping you memorize the notes) and you don't need it anymore! Got an idea to help make Fret Pro better? Send me a message at support@fretpro.app! The app is under active development and I’m constantly thinking of ways to make memorizing and visualizing the fretboard faster and easier. Thanks so much for your support, feedback, and reviews! I’ve been using it constantly. My only change/update is to be able to use the app in landscape mode. Specifically for fret practice mode. Its just tedious scrolling left and right to hit notes when using that feature. Besides that I love this app so much. -- linesfull, 2025-01-08 ### ***** "Great fretboard learning app!" I’m loving this app simply because it works. I’ve tried to learn the fretboard before, but failed. Brute force memorization just didn’t work for me. Fret Pro simply and patiently drills the note positions into my head a little at a time. I’m very happy with my progress so far. And with that success, continuing is so much easier. I know other folks have had issues with the app hearing the notes. I read through many of the reviews and tried to learn from them. I’m using an electric guitar with the volume full up and the tone at about half. I’m plugged into an iRig Pro with the gain cranked pretty high. It’s flashing red when I play. The green input bar in the app peaks just about to the top when I play, so the signal is pretty hot. I set the noise suppressor slider high as well. 80% to 90% of full scale. With these settings I’m getting great note detection. Probably 95% or better. The note detection isn’t perfect, but I don’t think perfection is a fair expectation. I expect the app to help me learn notes. And it does. I’m looking forward to new features like mentioned by other users. For me, I’d like to see an option to practice each string either from open to fret 11, as it is now, or from fret 1 to fret 12. I would also love to be able to select individual notes to practice across all 6 strings. Thanks again for a great learning tool! -- Not a chess guy, 2024-11-15 ### ***** "Finally, I’m learning the fretboard!" Been looking for an app just like this! It is almost perfect! Tried others, but never stuck with them. Didn’t need the lifetime license (once you learn it, you’ve learned it, right?) but did it to give a thanks for creating such an awesome app. -- Senhorbaker, 2024-11-11 ### ***** "This works great, don’t waste money on others or books" Asked for a change from the app maker and he was right on it with an update. Really the best working tool to actually memorize the fretboard quickly. Been playing since age 7 and never did it. Now inside of a week, I am well on my way to crushing every single note on the entire board …on my 8 strings. Thank you, Ryan!! -- blomeitunes41, 2024-10-17 ### *---- "Just doesn’t work" I’m playing the correct note. My guitar is tuned correctly. The app doesn’t care. Wasted my time. -- Murderhedgehog, 2024-10-15 ### ***** "Top notch." If you get premium (which is very, very affordable!), you get a very useful app that tracks your progress, tests you, and challenges you. Fantastic app, simple but great. -- Buddy Hampter, 2024-09-21 ### ****- "Solid training, needs better not recognition" Like other reviewers have written, this is a great app for training fret board notes. However, it struggles with note recognition. I’ve tried all the mic settings and a couple different acoustic guitars, but too often it won’t pick up the right note. I’ve even tried connecting directly through a headphone amp (Fender micro) on my electric and it still struggles. It’s pretty frustrating and ruins the pacing of practice. -- J Willy D, 2024-09-16 ### ****- "The best fretboard learner on the market but could be improved" This app is the best app for learning the fretboard as of now but a future competitor can implement certain things that will have it beat. I hope the developer will add these things so it can remain on top. 1. The app requests me to play the note E. There is a million different ways to play an E on the guitar. As of right now, the app doesn’t differentiate between the E’s it wants me to play aside from telling me I played the wrong E even if I still played an E. There should be a symbol next to the E to signify which E I should be playing. This part of the app is very frustrating and makes the learning experience much more tedious than it has to be. 2. There should be a feature to memorize the different chords on the guitar, similar to the system used for learning the fretboard. -- datboydaniel, 2024-08-24 ### ***** "great" simple and effective -- yureye, 2024-08-20 ### ***** "Awesome app" Very useful for learning the fretboard. Would definitely recommend, especially if you’ve already learned scale shapes. Memorizing note names is kind of like eating your vegetables, but this app has done a great job at breaking it up into easily manageable bite size pieces. Effective and kind of addicting 😆 -- Joe32886, 2024-07-24 [View all Fret Pro Guitar Notes Trainer reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## Fret Pro Guitar Notes Trainer In-App Purchases | Item | Price | |------|-------| | Yearly | $19.99 | | Monthly | $2.99 | | Lifetime | $39.99 | | Yearly + Family | $24.99 | | Monthly + Family | $4.99 | | Unlock all notes | $4.99 | | Lifetime + Family | $49.99 | ## Fret Pro Guitar Notes Trainer Store Rankings | Chart | Country | Category | Rank | |-------|---------|----------|------| | Top Free | Finland | Education | #230 | ## Fret Pro Guitar Notes Trainer Discovered Keywords -
