TRACK YOUR SURGES
In hypnobirthing we refer to contractions as surges, because a ‘surge’ more accurately describes the sensation you’ll experience when in labour. Freya is the ONLY hypnobirthing-friendly contraction timer on the app store, designed specifically with hypnobirthing mums in mind, using appropriate terminology, but can be used by anyone. PREPARE FOR BIRTH
You can use this birth timer in pregnancy to help you relax and prepare for childbirth. In fact the more you practice your breathing and listen to the guided relaxations and positive affirmations, the more familiar they will become and the more effective they will be at helping you relax when it comes to birth. Positive affirmations have been proven to change the way your mind works and listening regularly will help you feel less anxious and more confident in the lead up to birth. You can practice daily and then reset the surge history whenever you like.


THE SCIENCE
We know the more relaxed you are during birth, the more oxytocin you will produce. Oxytocin helps your uterus to work efficiently, making labour faster and more comfortable.


LIFESKILLS

I paid $2 or such for this app during my last pregnancy, it’s updated in the meantime and now it seems they’ve removed the feature to use guided meditations? Looks like it only counts surges now, where the meditations used to be us just a link to some “pregnancy package” on their website. Disappointed.

This app was nothing short of incredible - my husband was useless at the early hours after midnight - when I decided to download and pay for this app to help manage my contractions. It helped me get into the zone with its relaxing breathing and coaching during contractions and affirmations and helped me labour comfortably at home - well maybe a bit too well as by the time I reached the hospital I was fully dilated!

when my contractions started, a friend prompted me to download an app to track contractions. I was searching through and recognised the positive birth company and was so excited to see what you guys had created. throughout the final couple of months of pregnancy, siobhan / the positive birth company were a frequent youtube search and after every video I felt more empowered. 

from 9:30am till 7pm that night when I began to push our baby earthside, I was coached through every contraction with the breathing techniques on the freya app and I am so, so, so, so grateful.  

In between the breathing technique and the contractions I would listen to the meditations on the app. It was also incredibly helpful to have a log of the contractions and the time between them to communicate with the midwife. 

we arrived to hospital and I was fully dilated and had an incredibly positive and calm birth experience. A large part of this was made possible by the groundedness that your app created in me. thank you endlessly xxxx

I have used Freya for two all natural births. I used them throughout my labour all the way up to pushing out bubs. Highly recommend! I used this app to calmly guide me through 2 x natural and unmedicated births. 

The guided meditations and breathing counter on the Freya app helped so much staying relaxed and present and calm. It was also really helpful for timing contractions and knowing when to head to the hospital. I loved the option of hearing the guided relaxation or not.

I used this app during my labour and delivery and it 100% contributed to me not needing an epidural.
