Also there is no way to reset the average MPG to get a true reading on a ride. No issues with FP4 or app." I’m writing a review because some of this other reviews terrified me…LOL. The app works fine. The only option you get to choose for your map is the exhaust (cause all maps are designed around a “high flow” intake. There are plenty of manufacturers to choose from besides V&H. I had no issues with downloads/uploads, my cruise control still works fine (saw that in another review), and the ability to clear ECU codes is nice. The FP4 is a neutered FP3. No app will make the FP4 better. With that said, the V&H time really smoothed out the bike. I hated the stock throttle. That’s why I bought the FP4. If you have cruise control just know every time you touch your tune your CC will stop working and off to dealer to fork over $100 to have it re-enabled. Add option to enable CC when you load and easy 4 star, no cruise and bolt ons it does the job. The interface for everything else sometime works or like other state just get garbage data back. I’ve even used the optimize settings to adjust throttle response and idle RPM. Ive done the stage 2 torque upgrade and had no issue with the FP4. I’ve called support and they were helpful and knowledgeable. My only complaint would be the lack of options, I have Tab Performane 2n2 with V&H Hi Output slip ons and my only option is V&H Hi Output slip ons with V&H Dresser Duels. Pretends to connect but when searching for a map, no options are available for exhaust, fuel, engine. Just states to “CHOSE”. ECU can be rad or uploaded because no “FP4” found. I had a previous FP3 and it was fantastic. I’m on the fence with what to do. Had to remove the unit and pay my dealer 200.00 to reprogram my computer. And the dealer also voided my power train warranty. I like the Vance and Hines brand but this tuner is very disappointing. Unless you’re planning to run an ALL Vance & Hines stage 1 then this tuner is not for you. I don’t think the tuner is the issue to everyone’s problems. I think the application itself is pretty worthless. I have to leave my screen on in order to be able and stay connected to the app(assuming you have a phone mount). If your screen locks then more than likely you have gotten disconnected. I’ve tried using the Auto Tune and don’t get the results you look for. The gauges displayed on the FP4 are worthless. Says my fuel economy is 1742miles to empty. Says I only have 1HP and 1Torque when accelerating. Luckily I’m not one to use the app as I ride. But I can see everybody’s frustrations. I hope this app gets better soon. I’ve been fortunate my motorcycle has been running fine. Atleast I believe it is. Not once has the FP4 given me any trouble codes to tell me otherwise even tho I’m running slip ons with a cat delete… -- mobkinq, 2023-09-12 ### ***-- "Yes and No. Needs improvements" Not sure why I had to buy an Android tablet to get full functionality out of the FP4... Recently installed cruise control on my 22 FXLRS but the iOS app did me no good with the flash considering there are surprisingly way more features on the Android app, including a “switches” tab that gives you the ability to turn the cruise control function on and off. Not the end of the world, I still like the FP4, it would just be more convenient to have full access from my phone. Hopefully V&H are working on an update for this but if not, I guess I’ll just keep using the Android tablet. Around $50 at Walmart… I guess I’ll just throw it in the tool box and consider it a “shop tablet” from now on. Either way, thanks Vance & Hines for all you do, you guys make some excellent products. I freakin love my 2-1 Competition exhaust… holy smokes that thing sounds incredible and performs tremendously. Personally, I’m also happy that it’s not very common in my area.
