The bridge partners sit opposite each other at a table. The game of bridge consists of a number of “deals” (also “boards” or “hands”) and involves two stages: there is an “auction” (also called “bidding”) to determine the contract to be made, and then the “card play” where you must reach the goal set. On Funbridge, you play in South, whereas North, East and West are played by a specialised artificial intelligence, the same for all players. So, you don’t need to wait for other players to play bridge. The AI is available 24/7 to allow you to play bridge whenever you want. You can also play multiplayer bridge with your bridge friends or players from all over the world. Funbridge offers a unique game experience by enabling all players to play the same bridge deals. The objective is simple: score the highest and compare yourself to other bridge players in dedicated rankings. I have half a dozen friends I play with regularly. These are friends I met on Funbridge. I have joined a team to play each month and I play a daily exclusive event, plus a bimonthly series. I also have a running competition with my husband on Funbridge. It is well worth the annual subscription for unlimited deals. There are competitions you can also enter but have to pay extra. I rarely bother. The community is huge! In other words, with identical bidding and play on the part of the players, the computer will play in different ways. Given how long Funbridge has been going, this is a problem they should have sorted out by now and I can only assume that they don’t really see it as a problem.
