It all starts with your plan. You tell us your goal, your experience level and which days you can train, and we build your program around that. Your workouts land on your days, and if something comes up you can easily reschedule your training to another day. Want to add something extra? Browse the workout library and add any session to your plan.

Every program is created by our founder and coach, Sophie van Oostenbrugge, and comes in variations for every experience level, from your first session to your most advanced one. Choose gym or home, pick 1 to 7 training days, and your split, exercise selection and volume adapt to what you tell us.

### ****- "Glad I found this!"
Although the app is not perfect I am very glad I found this. So far, I’ve had no technical issues with the app and all of the features have worked seamlessly. The new Calm feature is a great addition. I would love to be able to add it to my calendar the way I can add workouts and meals. A pause feature during workouts would be great. The aesthetics are very appealing. The recipes are very good and I love that they seem to add more frequently. So far, I am very pleased with this app.

I’m enjoying the app so far! Simple to use! It would be nice to have a few extra features such as a pause button during workouts. It would also be great to have a video preview of the next exercise. Lastly it would be nice to have a quick switch option between gym and home workouts. I usually shift a lot between working out in the gym vs my home. It would be smart to have a switch that would change my planned workout to an equivalent gym version and vice versa. Other than those suggestions I love the app so far!

I’ve lifted for years with and without structured programs. I tried the hybrid program by GBB and finally achieved the physique I’ve been working towards. The recipes are also so yummy and straightforward. Highly recommend!

Overall a solid app. Would I say beginner friendly? Not sure. Things seem very fast paced with no way to pause, difficult to track progress, difficult to maneuver in commercial gym, plus some personal preferences.

### ***-- "Great workouts, Poor app"
The workouts and programs on the app are great. Minimizes gym stress and provides a solid structure for me to follow. The meals and nutrition are an added bonus though I don’t use that often. I’m a big fan of Sophie and love to support her. The app still needs a lot of work, compared to other ones on the market.

Problems:
1. Doesn’t specify when/if to switch on single leg movements (ex the B Stance hip thrust on Leg: Every rep counts). The time provided is too short if we are expected to switch. I have to work into the rest time.
2. No pause option while in you’re in a workout. 
3. Needs alternative options if a machine is taken or dumbbells options if barbell not available. 

The Alive app by Whitney Simmons is much better in functionality and interface, although I prefer this app in terms of actual programming. I bought the Black Friday annual subscription for $40 so I’ll continue to stick with it for now. Really hope this app improves

If you follow Sophie or go to her website, she is all about macros, yet there is none of this in the app to personalize the nutritional part of being healthy.  Also no ability to tailor or filter by allergy or preference.

Great app, easy to use and keep track of your fitness goals. Makes accountability and consistency easy when you have your week planned out for you with the programs! I like the customization of the app to have a program created for you to fit your schedule/goals/location. Definitely would recommend for anyone looking to improve their fitness!

I’ve been using gains by brains app now for about a year and overall it’s pretty good but there are a few essential features I think it’s missing. When you start a program, even if you haven’t done every workout once the time has elapsed it automatically says that you’ve completed it when you haven’t. So I’m having to go back figure out which program I was on in which week so I can complete the program for real, so that could be fixed. Also, if they had alternative exercises for times maybe a machine isn’t available in the gym or you don’t have access to that equipment that would be good.
