No custom exercises?
I paid for the lifetime membership because I’m tired of paying for subscriptions, so I’m super grateful that a lifetime membership is an option for long term users. The database, videos, and rest timer are fantastic. However, there are some exercises within the workouts that I cannot perform due to lack of equipment or injury. While the switch exercise option is brilliant for these sets, I have found time and time again that the exercise database is not as deep as I expected, and there is no ability to create a “custom” exercise for these situations, which has led to time being taken away from my workouts just to search for a “close enough” alternative that I can just make a note for. Then come next workout, I have forgotten which “close enough” exercise I used. Are there plans to give us a feature like this? Many apps do it so I’m baffled this one does not with how forward thinking its other features are. Big disappointment for an otherwise fantastic app. If we get a feature like this soon I would update my rating to 5 stars easily, but that is a big disappointment for me.
Frustrating support levels
I’ve been unable to login to Ganbaru for several weeks despite having an annual subscription. Tech support occasionally responds to my requests for an update via email but has offered no fixes and no refund. Response times are slow. When trying to get help, it becomes painfully clear that this is an app mainly for people in another hemisphere (I’m in USA). I liked the app (when it worked), even though it was buggy and a bit slow. Coach Eugene’s videos are really explanatory. But that won’t help me if I can’t even login.
Great App - Too Many Bugs
The idea behind this app is great, and the look and features are amazing. However, there are several annoying bugs that are so obvious that they make it feel like the developers just neglect to fix them. They really take away from the experience and ultimately played a big role in me not continuing outside of the free trial.
Completely Broken App
This app doesn’t work at all. I have the newest version of iOS and this app. My food tracker never saves the food and my workout tracker never saves the workout, weights, or reps. I paid $100 for this app and it’s completely broken. It’s extremely frustrating to try to track a workout and then the app refreshes to the beginning set. And I have to re-enter all my data. The workouts are well thought out, Eugene is very good and the videos are informative. But other than that, the app is not good. I’m sorry, but this app is not optimized at all. You guys need to fix this if you’re going to charge hundreds of dollars for a subscription.
Getting there
Not bad if you’re using the existing programs but the ability to create/edit your own needs a LOT of work.
No free option!
Unfortunately this app is for pay to use. Too many other app options that you can get for free. Didn't finish the setup because they wanted me to pick a paying option. Not willing to pay for other option that free in the app store.
If you were going to charge people to use the app can only be a few dollars a month.
Calorie tracker/food search is TERRIBLE.
Almost all the food entries are inaccurate from barcodes. I’m constantly editing serving portion. Impossible to find some items. Why are the calories and the detailed meals on separate tabs? I’m eating common foods from the grocery store…
I prefer an app like Carbon much more than this.
Workouts and educational videos are solid.

Best app ever
This app is the best app I have ever had. Eugene is an amazing coach and it shows with all of the time and effort he puts into designing it along with the extra support he offers with his Fb community.
I have been training for years and this app will help you push and reach new levels of fitness - bravo!!!!
This is about the app, NOT the program
- The app is lacking, the sets and weight don’t clear out with every workout. It keeps what you recorded during the previous session and you have to manually delete it/re add it, which is annoying.
- During initial set up, I denied access to my activity and I have not been able to go back and change that.
- When I finish a 4 day workout, I can’t add another day to that same screen, I have to do it on the “Next week”.
The program is great, but this product is really not. Please fix your app
