Garmin StreetCross Reviews
Can’t even get started
I can’t even download a map to get started. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app, I’m connected to WiFi but keep getting an error that I’m not connected to the internet. Funny because EVERYTHING else on my phone is working just fine. Absolutely trash, will be passing this along to Yamaha as well.
not a great experience
Frequently disconnects, if you switch off the app so its in the background it seems to have connectivity issues. If this happens i need to pull over and refresh the app so it reconnects. I often cant find places by name and I have to tediously copy paste the address. I cant map the destination unless i'm connected, but would be preferable to just do that beforehand so I can see where im going before starting my bike up. Looks like it hasnt been updated in 8 months.
Absolute crap for a GPS app
This is the default GPS app for Yamaha XMAX, and it’s abysmal. It’s incredibly difficult to plan trips, as it constantly wants to search “the current map view” which often doesn’t show your next stop on a trip. But once you zoom out to broaden the search, it cancels the trip you were building. It’s beyond frustrating. It often cannot find smaller cities, points of interest, etc. despite being “up to date “ and having an internet connection.
Sadly, having GPS native to the XMAX was one of the selling points for me, but had I known Yamaha used this crap, I may have gone a different way.
I’ve since mounted my phone so I can use Apple or Google Maps, because this Garmin app is just horrible.
Add a map of Iran
Please add a map of Iran
Beyond horrible!!
How is Garmin still in business?
I didn’t realize a map app could be so bad till I’m forced to try this with my Yamaha Connected Bike.
Although I knew what way to go, I decided to give this a try yesterday and it literally tried to take me on a route that was 10 minutes further. I know 10 minutes doesn’t sound like a lot, but when your trip is only 14 minutes on Google or Apple Maps, adding 10 minutes is huge! The kicker, had I taken Garmin’s route it likely would have been longer as it was routing me through a congested area!!
Avoid at all costs
Unusable
It keeps disconnecting from my Xmax, Saying Bluetooth fail. Please fix it.
no no no
we need china map
Not what I’ve come to expect
Not what I’ve come to expect from Garmin or Yamaha.
App provides inconsistent results. Frequently displays spinning arrows and stops functioning. Turn by turn directions get forgotten en route. Navigation voice is very robotic. Frequently loses connectivity. You can’t do a lookup to a destination in your contacts. Must type in the address. This would be an elegant solution for the XMAX IF it would work with consistency.
No help yet
I’m not sure if it’s garmin or Yamaha, but this is just terrible. When I press on weather on the bike it tells me there is a Bluetooth connection problem but when I press on maps there is no problem. If Bluetooth works for one then it should work with the other. What’s strange, on android I got weather but no maps. Now I’m on iPhone and I get maps but no weather. I think under the lemon law I should return this bike unless they can fix it.
dont download
its a junk! Literally junk, it hasn’t anything that you need.
