Subject: Critical Bug Report: Conversation History Disappears After Leaving the Notebook
Dear NotebookLM Support Team,
I am writing to report a critical bug that is severely impacting my workflow and the usability of your otherwise excellent tool. I rely on NotebookLM for my projects and this issue is causing significant disruption.
Problem Description:
The core issue is that the entire conversation history within a notebook is lost after navigating away from it. Here is the step-by-step process that consistently reproduces the problem:
1. I create a new notebook and successfully upload my sources.
2. I then engage in a detailed conversation with the AI, asking numerous questions and receiving valuable answers and explanations based on the provided sources.
3. After my session, I close the browser tab or navigate away from the NotebookLM application.
4. Upon returning to the same notebook later, I am surprised to find that the entire conversation has vanished. All of my questions and the AI's corresponding responses are gone.
5. The only content that remains is the initial "Overview" of the sources. The interactive and crucial part of the notebook—the chat history—is completely wiped out.
Impact of the Issue:
This bug fundamentally undermines the primary function of NotebookLM for long-term projects. The inability to save and revisit conversation histories means all progress and generated insights are lost, forcing me to start from scratch every single time. This makes the tool unreliable for any serious or ongoing work.
Request:
Given my urgent and heavy reliance on this tool, I kindly request that your team investigate this matter with high priority and implement a fix as soon as possible. The persistence of conversation history is crucial for the tool's functionality.
