Search for GeniePoint chargepoints using the map or a list of nearby chargepoints
Receive directions to the chargepoint through your device’s mapping application
Discover chargepoint information, including connector times, pricing and live availability 
Register your payment card and enjoy the convenience of automatic payment.  Alternatively charge as a guest for one-off charging
Use the app to register your own RFID Card to access the service quickly every time
Monitor the progress of your charge session via the App while you are away from your vehicle 
Access all your charging history and data

I needed a charge and found a genie point. It had a card reader on the front and the contactless symbol so I tried my card but it kept prompting me to authenticate by phone. It didn’t clarify if that meant by calling, app or card on my phone. I eventually downloaded the app after admitting defeat. I genuinely hate using apps and this app is the reason why. The app itself is huge, needlessly so and always indicative of lazy developers. Once I’d downloaded it and filled in my details, email (twice), mobile number, home address, card details, card address, car. None of which auto populated. I then needed to create an account and authenticate the email. Unfortunately the immensely secure Apple password suggested wasn’t good enough and so even then I had to create a separate one just for genie. By the time this process was done I’d have been charged and back in my way with any other provider. But no, the app then didn’t work so I needed to call genie point for them to reset the charger which took another 5 minutes. I feel like I could have developed a process and an app by mistake that was more efficient than this. Genuinely dreadful.

How this company is making any money is beyond me… no option to just use a debit/credit card at the charger and you spend ages using their awful app that; blank screens, doesn’t process inputs, takes all your personal information only to then fail payment when you select the charger and connector.

Takes twice as long as other apps to set up, entering multiple pieces of data more than once. Also, after 10 minutes of charging, the app shows no usage, despite myAudi app showing realtime accurate data. This app seems like it’s made by amateurs

Firstly, I don’t think I should have needed this app. It would be so much easier just to use a debit card with contactless but that says ‘wrong card.’
Then, it took ages to fill in all the required info on the app. Some things it asked for more than once and iPhone autofill wouldn’t work for any of it. There was no address look up. 
Eventually I had the app loaded but it took over ten minutes of repeatedly asking it to start charging before anything happened. This is made worse by the fact that the two chargers are not labelled so who knows which is charger 1 and which is charger 2. Eventually after I was cold and wet, and had tried ringing customer services, it began to charge. 
The charger wasn’t particularly fast - was getting maximum of 11.5 when it was labelled as 22. Consequently it didn’t cost a fortune because after 40 mins it had only given me about 30 miles of charge. 
At the end of that, I couldn’t disconnect it. Pressing stop on the app did nothing. Again I rang customer services and it’s almost as if they can sense there’s a phone call coming in from next to a particular charger and then they finally allow whatever function you’ve been requesting on the app for the last ten minutes. 
I’m not planning on using that charger again and will steer clear of Genie Point in the future.

App took 15 mins to signup and log in, then after all that the charger wouldn’t work. Kept saying too much time had elapsed and charger needed to be unplugged then plugged in again. This happened multiple times before I gave up trying to charge through the app and used a charge card instead

I got stuck on the road as my rental car has ran out of battery. I managed to make it to a genie charge point. I would have thought that in this modern day and age charging a car would be at least as simple as refuelling the car - but that’s far from the truth with GeniePoint. The station forced me to download this app first(in the middle of nowhere with no wifi), then register, verify email, which took ages, then enter credit card details(Apple Pay, or any other modern payment methods are not supported), then the charge point didn’t work at all. It was infuriating, I had to go to a Shell charging point which immediately worked with contactless, without any registration or hassle.
Please improve your app and your services as currently they are unusable!

Avoid like the plague, more expensive than anywhere I’ve used and they charge an overstay fee of £10 after 90 minutes,
What they don’t say is that they charge you the overstay fee even if your car is still charging .
Bunch of bandits, hope they go bust and it’s companies live this that give the EV marked a bad name !

### *---- "Avoid! Worst Experience Ever"
I downloaded this app because you need it to use their chargers. Once you plug their charger in then there is no way to release it if you don’t use some sort of RFID card, which why on earth would you have if you have already a phone app to do everything. Then you press in the app to stop the charge but it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work! So it keeps on charging and costing you money that you don’t want to spend, this is same as scam! You have to call their support service which is keeping you on hold forever for them to stop the charging station and allow to release the charger. You can release it by pressing an emergency button they have on the charging station, but it messes up everything and they have a notice not to do or they will fine you. Awful incredibly awful. Avoid at all costs!

I’m not going to add to the barrage of complaints of a clunky app, etc - see other reviews for that)….  HOWEVER, the tariffs displayed on the app are completely wrong on a lot of the chargers, and have been for a long time.
Seriously???? If we can’t trust GeniePoint for accurate prices on their own chargers…. Who should we trust??
A shameful experience overall.
