## Geology Toolkit Description
Geology Toolkit uses AI to identify rocks and minerals, explain formations and create labelled pencil sketches all from a photo, then tells you the story behind them - how they formed, what they're made of and what else you might find nearby. Also includes geological information like Mohs hardness, luster, chemical formula and much more.

Whether you're a curious walker who picked up something interesting, a rockhound building your collection, a student preparing for fieldwork, or a professional working in the field, Geology Toolkit gives you a considered field guide in your pocket.

What you can do
• Identify rocks, minerals, crystals, gems, and pebbles from photos
• Read the full formation story - how each specimen formed, over what timescale, in what conditions
• Discover companion minerals commonly found alongside your finds
• Save specimens to your personal field guide with sketches, notes, and location
• Get confidence scores and alternative identifications for tricky specimens

Built for serious curiosity
• Rockhounds and collectors building a field guide of finds
• Geology and earth science students studying mineralogy, petrology, and classification
• Field professionals needing quick, reliable identification and reference
• Educators and parents exploring geology with curious learners
• Anyone who's ever picked up a stone and wondered what it was

Why Geology Toolkit
Most rock identifier apps stop at a name. Geology Toolkit goes further - explaining why a rock is what it is, how it formed, and what to look for in the field. Every identification adds to your personal field guide, building a reference you'll return to.

Subscribe for unlimited identifications, full formation histories, companion mineral data, and an exportable field record.

From photo to real geological understanding - one specimen at a time.

## Geology Toolkit Reviews in United States

### **--- "Missed opportunity"
I downloaded this app hoping that it would offer a more data driven approach to rock identification, instead this just seems like a worse implementation of other AI apps. What I really want is to be able to feed the app information like hardness, SG and acid test results so that the AI can use all of that data along with the image to give me the best possible result. If this was implemented I do believe it could quickly become the best identification app for informed hobbyists.
-- Justin Blodgett, 2026-01-24

### *---- "Long loading screen"
App takes a long time to analyze rock/ mineral
