## Geometrica Description
Geometrica is the first drawing app made for tattooers, by a tattooer. Second generation tattooer and geometric/dotwork pioneer, Cory Ferguson, has built on 30 years in the industry to create a way for tattooers to push their geometric drawing to the next level. Even though we're focused on the needs of tattoo artists and solving problems specific to their workflow, we have been pleasantly surprised to learn that artists from many different disciplines have become fans of Geometrica. From quilters, to illustrators, to tattoo veterans, the power of this fun to use app is undeniable.

[ SYMMETRY AND PATTERN MAKING FEATURES ]
Combine and use these simultaneously:

ROTATION EFFECT - AKA the mandala maker. Other apps may have this, but not like ours. With Geometrica your mandala can be a maximum of 200 mirrored segments (so technically 400 segments!).

REPEAT EFFECT - Multiplies your drawing and repeats it in a row formation to create a “band” of pattern either vertically or horizontally.

POLAR REPEAT - Combines with the rotation effect to repeat your drawing in rows of concentric circles that get smaller towards the center. Toggle on curve to draw in spirals. That’s right, your drawing curves out in any number of spirals!

WALLPAPER EFFECT - We took all known symmetry groups used to make full page patterns, and figured out a way to vastly expand them to make them customizable.

GRADIENT THICKNESS - Lines increase from thin to thick on the canvas in the direction that you choose, top to bottom, outward in a circular, left to right in multiple rows. There are dozens of options! Combine it with any of the above symmetry tools for a drawing experience you have to see to believe.

[ DRAWING TOOLS ]
Here’s just a couple of our favourites:

MARKER TOOL - The main drawing tool in the app can be customized in many ways, by turning various functions on. These include tapers, a whip shading option, and a “rope stabilizer” that helps draw the smoothest curves.

STRAIGHT LINE TOOL - Hold the Pencil on screen to draw straight lines. Works well with symmetry effects for sharp, industrial images and unexpected designs. Enable its "continuous" option for a unique drawing experience.

DOTWORK TOOL - We couldn’t release a Cory Ferguson app without a dotwork tool, so we made the most customizable version of pointillism shading we could think of. Change the dot size, density, the brush size, randomize the size of the dots. Personalize it to suit your taste.

[ FOR PROFESSIONAL TATTOOERS ]

- Keep your work organized with folders in the Gallery section. 
- Convert To Lines function turns any image into a line drawing with one click, then you can fine tune the image from there.
- Adjustable grids can be turned on in the background such as square, hexagon or isometric.
- Snap Menu allows the straight line tool to "snap" to points on the grid, or place your symmetry tool at the exact centre of your drawing after you’ve moved it. Rotate layers in 5 degree increments when transforming.
- Printing features that EVERY tattooer needs. Print drawings at ANY size! Want a tattoo to measure 28” tall? Enter those numbers into our print system and the app will break the image up into as many pages as needed, and you’re ready to stencil. No more resizing on the photocopier! Various image adjustment tools to make sure you get the cleanest, most accurate stencils.
- Monthly Patterns. Each month you get 6 patterns that show off the possibilities of what Geometrica can do. You are free to make use of them however you wish.

Because Geometrica is focused on a small niche market of working tattoo professionals, it requires a subscription. After the 14 day free trial period ends, the subscription equals approximately 11.50 USD per month when you sign up for the full year. ### ***** "Well, well worth the money."
I’ve had Geometrica on my IPad Pro for about a year and a half now. The first year I was lucky enough to be able to afford the annual subscription and have continued with the monthly and I can’t express enough how worth while this app is. Whether you’re a seasoned tattoo artist or simply crave symmetry and some sort of order in the chaotic landscape we live in these days; this app is for you, for us. I love having the tools to create sacred geometric patterns and mandalas digitally without having to copy, paste, rotate and place over and over and over again.
While Geometrica is a very simple and straightforward app, it boasts the capability of helping you create even the most complex and far from simple creations. Do yourself a favor and subscribe. 
Thank you to the creators of this wonderfully crafted, very niche app. You’ve positively aided in the development of my craft and my ability to see the world thru a kaleidoscopic lense.

This is an amazing app. Very well done and thought out. Some complain about price which is ridiculous. If you’re using it for any type of professional application and aren’t able to receive multiple times the cost then just don’t buy it. Why complain? I think this is well worth the money. ### ***-- "Great app, but problems and costs detract"
Program is unique and useful, but there are problems that can be annoying. For one, once any guide or ruler tool handles are outside your canvas, they can no longer be grabbed or moved… forcing you to delete them entirely. Secondly, the color picker is affected by blends, transparency etc… so color picking 50% transparent black will give you grey, not black.

The last issue I have is the price. $16 a month is pretty extreme compared to what that gets you in other disciplines and spaces. Entire cad packages, full art suites, the sum collection of all humanities music etc. The entire adobe app collection is $50 a month and that’s every major creative discipline there is at a professional level. As much as I like this app overall, I’m going to end up cancelling my sub because it’s just too much for the functionality offered. I’ve read the other reviews, I’ve seen the developer responses.. they don’t change the math here.

Don’t even bother downloading this unless you are willing to sign up for a trial period. There is absolutely nothing you can do for free. A box pops up asking which plan you want to buy and it doesn’t go away. I personally think this is disgusting. A person should be able to get a sense of what they are getting before they purchase. It may be a great app, but I was not allowed to find out. Therefore I have to base my rating on what I know, which is just greed.

This app seems pretty cool, and I do recognize they provide monthly patterns to add some value to the subscription, but the pricing is just outrageous. 

It’s also frustrating that the pricing is somewhat hard to see on the App Store page, so you may not realize the cost until you download the app. 

I like to doodle on my iPad in apps like Procreate and Mandala Maker, so I found Geometrica while looking for an app that provided better symmetry than Procreate, but with more artistic tools than an app like Mandala Maker, which lacks proper Pencil support. 

I do this in occasional bursts, sometimes not for months at a time. The subscription model isn’t reasonable for casual enjoyers like me. I’d have hesitations paying $5/month, let alone an obscene $17/month. 

I promptly uninstalled and shortly after, I found Amaziograph, which works incredibly for my use case, and costs 99 cents for a permanent license.

I respect the fact that developing software is a lot of work, and if this lets you provide for your family then more power to you, but I want you to know that you’re missing out on a lot of potential customers with the extremely expensive subscription only model. I would’ve happily tried out a free basic version and paid to unlock more patterns and brushes. I would’ve also been happy to buy a permanent license, and I could see myself paying $30 for it, maybe more if I was really in love with the app. 

Instead there’s no way I will ever use this app again, because you’re competing with 99 cent permanent license apps that also offer great, unique feature sets.

### ***** "BEST PATTERN/MANDALA APP. PERIOD."
I’ve been using this app since it’s release. It’s been updated several times since then. Adding new features and the developers take feedback well. It won’t be for everyone. You can read the reviews about the insane price compared to other apps. Don’t let that deter your decision. Millions of people aren’t using this app. Nobody is getting rich from making Geometrica. Hardworking tattooers who wanna help all the other tattooers spent years developing it. And continue to do so. This app is design for people who use it for tattooing, which I do. It’s a business expense that I make back in the first tattoo I do after subscribing. The years I spent making similar patterns in AI have been made effortless with this app. My time is worth way more that $120/year. Will it be worth it if you just want to doodle some designs? Probably not, there are other free or cheap apps that can accomplish that. But if you art a professional artist that actually sells your art, this app is for you.

Please don’t buy this game. It is supposed to be a free mandala drawing game. What it doesn’t say, is that you literally have to pay 15 just to use it! No, and this subscription isn’t for extra tools, or colors, it’s just to use the app! It’s pointless, and there are plenty of other free mandala apps out there. Don’t waste your money (and time) on this one.

### ****- "Off to a great start!"
This app is impressive and powerful. There are a lot of tools to help build your patterns. A few things are needed to justify the steep price: 

1. More control over brush taper w/ pressure
2. Better stabilization
3. Brush variety or ability to import a brush tip shape

I use Geometrica for building patterns that I import into procreate to use as design elements in illustrations. I don’t feel like I have a lot of control over my drawings in Geometrica if I am drawing by hand. I realize the app is intended more for working with shapes, but better brush control would go a long way and would take the app to another level. As of now, I don’t feel like I can make a finished design in Geometrica. I usually use it to get started and then I have to polish it up in procreate before I can use it in an illustration. Right now it is worth subscribing once in a while, but it’s too expensive for what it is currently. The monthly subscription price should be more like $5-$7 per month, or a one time fee for $100. This single program is asking for more than most video streaming services, more than Amazon Prime, WAY more than Procreate (1 time fee), more than even the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy 14 which offers an expanded free trial and the entirety of A Realm Reborn and the award-winning Heavensward expansion up to level 60 with no restrictions on playtime. 

I digress… it’s a great program. It doesn’t offer the value to justify the price especially when there are a lot of other subscription based tools that artists need. Would love to see some improvements to the brushes and a flat rate price.

I just heard about the app. The way the guy used it man it really seemed like a kool app, but I didn’t realize it had a subscription. Unfortunately I don’t think I’d use it enough to have to be charged monthly. 

The ability to make something unique is great…but there are other free ways to do it…or cheaper prices. Procreate for example…one set fee…and I can do great things with the app as well. This app is over priced considering there are other apps in the market that give you the creative ability to make whatever you want.

It’s definitely an awesome design app, but I’m not happy with  the print system in that I dont have an air printer, and wish I could hook it up via usb straight to the iPad. It does not recognize my pocket jet and will only air print. 😢 Other than that it’s a great app though.
