My friend introduced me to this game and I couldn’t stop playing it I had to put a screen time on my phone so I wouldn’t spend all day on this game. The only thing bad about this game is that if you don’t spend your gems wisely you will get locked and won’t be able to get certain achievements and rewards. With this game you have made my love for Rome and gladiators grow so much. Thank you so so much for this game Edit Nov 24 2024: The second place in the build menu is very fast or super slow to get I was on week 200 before I got it. Also if you could make more houses instead of the set fee it would bring a whole lot more diversity and a little bit more of a challenge (The game is really hard but with right kind of strategy it becomes easier even with hard mode). Normally if they died it show the grey box, but I check the in game messages and it didn't say anything about me selling trading or the rhino dying. It was one of my best soldiers and now that I'm in week 88 I'm struggling to get farther and win tournaments. Same with when I start a different story a new one I've had multiple gladiators disappear. Spending 400 or more on a gladiator just for it to disappear is very very much not fun. It's a huge set back. Other than these issues I'm having a great time playing I get couch locked and play for literally hours. Had a few bugs and issues that need resolved but it's a new game so i understand why this may happen. Just unfortunate. If the dev could possibly add more achievements and maybe even tips and tricks for which upgrades are actually useful. Unless you just get absurdly lucky with your first gladiator, you will spend the rest of the game getting your boys injured in the arena and your estate getting obliterated by roving gladiator rebels, who will either kill any half-decent warrior you have, or just completely destroy your entire estate, including workers, effectively rendering you back to square 1. Oh, but the other houses never have that issue. I have been learning programming the past few months so I can create a game very similar to this but this developer beat me to it. Overall, the system is done really well. There is a learning curve but I was able to get past that within a full day of playing and unlock mostly everything. I do wish there was a bit more to this game but I do understand it is still early in development and am excited about what may be coming next. In the future I would like to see more types of beast, weapons, gladiators, and maybe even rivals, as well as another mode to play whether that be fighting or something else. I’m sure all of that will be coming soon. I believe this game has the potential to be Top 10 on any App Store and is overall great conceptually and gameplay wise. -- ShleepF, 2024-10-12 ### ****- "Needs updates bad" I would love to give this a 5 star however I can’t use the gladiator editor, it won’t save the gladiators in my IOS, you can’t reorder your gladiators to make them easier to organize and keep the fighters you want in order. I bought the diamonds to upgrade and it’s just not worth it. Once I have purchased all the upgrades it’s just the same stuff me destroying all the other camps. I would happily change my review and give it a 5 start if the gladiator editor worked and a few bugs were fixed for the IOS. The concept of this game is fantastic just not where it needs to be yet (Edit October 8th,20204) Gladiator editor is working better and the game is a little smoother I updated my review from a 3 to a 4. I’m a big fan of the visual style and gameplay, but there are some shortcomings that prevent it from being what it has the clear potential to be. First of all, it feels quite buggy. I think this might have to do with the fact that a lot of the game’s content is confusingly gated behind a premium currency of sorts. For example, I found a rhino for sale at market and bought it for 500 denarii only for it to immediately die between weeks. Initially I thought it must have been a terrible turn of fate despite the vagueness surrounding it, but later I found the option to unlock rhinos in the gem page… so, why was it available to begin with? I’ve also had gladiators gain traits they should not have, such as the trait for defeating escaped gladiators when I had done no such thing, and had a gladiator with very high cunning randomly disarm an opponent, which was neat… only to find that the disarm skill is another gem unlock. Second, some gameplay concepts, like influence, seem underdeveloped. It’s a welcome addition and, as a long time fan of the Starz Spartacus series, it’s fun seeing familiar names like Battiatus constantly denied the influence he desired in the series. However, I was able to gain enough influence to sway the senate in a few weeks, so the pacing seems a bit off for a lowly lanista, which basically amounts to a glorified pimp. I haven't played enough to really say definitively, but altogether the game just feels a little loose. If some mechanics were tightened up, I think this would quickly become a favorite game of mine.
