Faulty app

My refund had been processed and validated, I keep receiving emails to complete payment details although I’ve already added in my credit card details on the manual forms and submitted it. I tried to enter my payment details on the app and a blank screen always shows up where we are suppose to add in the payment details. Such a scam.

Where are the past transactions?

After pending validation status of several weeks, the record just disappeared and I don’t even know if the tax refund was successful.

Old tech, useless app, nonexistent service - use the new fintech apps instead

Typical old behemoth in its industry that is unable to make the technological transition and ripe for disruption. This app doesn't do anything but let you see the stage where your tax refund is at and is able to help you fill in your details on tax free forms. Problem is, you need to enter the long reference number yourself (when phone cameras exist) and retail sales staff are not familiar with the app. Still terrible customer experience overall with slow refunds (took me three months in 2018), sales staff filling in forms wrongly and Global Blue denying your refunds. There are fintech startups in this space I have heard positive things about that I will use next time like taxfree4u and vatfree.com if they are available where I’m traveling to - apparently, the retail shops don’t even need to be signed up to these services for you to claim. A retailer in Italy used the Stamp service and it was so stress-free - no complicated forms to return at the airport, took my customs stamp through the app and gave me 100% of my VAT back (for a <500euros purchase) in hours after I left the EU. In contrast, Global Blue rejected my 73euros refund after 5 weeks because the retailer made a typo in my name-because sure, customers has to bear the brunt of such errors and Global Blue have no service recovery. New technology is the way to go for sure, can’t wait to see the damage they wreck on the very complacent Global Blue.

A very scheming company to deal with.

They won’t disclose to you that they will actually keep a large chunk of what you are entitled when you do your tax refund. For example , if an item costs $1000 with 20% tax. Instead of the $200 that you are entitled , you will only get back $100 at most thru your card. So avoid getting your tax refund from Global Blue if possible. If you are still not convinced , there are plenty of reviews online telling to avoid Global Blue so beware!
