Hated paying the $5 (because I’m cheap), but the app is simple, clutter free, no ads, and within 24 hours I had been sent multiple notifications about newly opened up interview slots at CLT, which is infamously always booked up. Quickly shows accurate available appointments. Pop up centers like Columbus OH were a little hard to find, but are there. Also, you can set an end date, but no other filters. We can only do weekend appointments, would be great if you could specify to only alert appointments on specific days of the week for a specific location. However, make sure you’re already logged into your account on the website so that you can try and grab the appointment. I was able to get 2 appointments using this app but it took a while because I kept missing out. If I didn’t try to book the appointment IMMEDIATELY after getting the notice they would be already gone. A day after getting the app I got a notification that an appointment opened up the following week. So I am going to Europe in August. I applied for Global Entry in early June. I live near Charlotte, NC- surprisingly, the turn around on my application approval was within 5 business days. For my Mom, she applied in mid to late June and it took about 1.5 weeks to get her approval. In NC, the only airport in the whole state that does interviews is the Charlotte airport and it was booked out for over a year. And if an opening happened and you didn’t get on it with a minute of it opening, the appointment would be gone- that’s how in demand it was! So this app saved my butt. I got multiple notifications a day with cancellations and I finally got one that worked with my schedule. Within a week of downloading this app, I got my interview (the interview itself lasted about 5 mins max and I received my global entry card within about a week. Honestly, I was shocked how smooth and fast the process all went for me, but maybe I just got lucky). The only thing is, if you are in a high demand area like NC, you have to get onto the Global Entry website IMMEDIATELY to obtain the opening that comes up! Unfortunately, there is no direct link from this app that notifies you of the appointment opening to the actual Global Entry site where you make the appointment, so I recommend having the Global Entry website login page open on an internet tab on your phone ready to go for whenever you get a notification. Then when you get a notification, just pop over to your internet tab that’s already open, put in your login info, and grab that appointment immediately without wasting any time. My tip to you- be sure to not already be logged in to the GE website. I tried that in an effort to save time for when an appointment opened up, but the site times out and then when you open your page back up later, it’s all messed up and refresh and hitting the back button doesn’t work, so you are forced to do a full on new internet search for the GE website again which adds seconds to your time, but every second counts- at least in NC- when trying to nab an opening. So just have it set to the login page where a quick hit of the refresh button will bring it back if needed and have your login info memorized so you can quickly get back on. I, also, recommended the app for my mom who lives in Jacksonville, FL. She was trying to get an appointment at Sanford, which was booked up beyond the point of when we were leaving for Europe in August (but there were availabilities in August). The app does send notifications on average one to two per day. I have responded immediately, literally within seconds by phone or computer to the GE portal and in every case there is no appointment. Hard to tell if there is that much demand that seconds count for login or if the notifications are late or not as accurate as other programs.
