Kindle need not worry

Can’t make the app turn the page.

False Advertising - NOT available Offline

I’m a huge audiobook fan and I’ve been an Audible member for many years. I downloaded Glose as The Times were giving free books away and this is the app they use. The book choices were good but sadly the app, not so much. Books aren’t available to listen to offline and as such every time I go to listen to a book, it has to start the download over again. This is tedious to say the least and no good if I want to listen when I have no signal for example whilst flying or driving in an area where reception is poor. I don’t understand why this is as it states books are available for offline listening when they aren’t. False advertising. Not an app I’d use if it wasn’t for the free book nor would I recommend anyone else use it.

Books not available offline

I downloaded, it so I thought, a book to read on an airplane journey. I was reading it on the outward journey only to find that my library was empty and my reading list was blank on the return journey. Now that I am back with data/wifi the book has reappeared. Although my current reading list says 0.

No scroll.

I find the inability to read scrolling very frustrating. It detracts from the enjoyment of the books.

Didn't work!

App downloaded ok; first book downloaded ok. But it refused to play chapter 1 and started in the middle of a sentence in chapter 2. Did this several times … app deleted!

Very poor

The download missed out a chapter and now missing pages. Not impressed

Cumbersome to use

Compared with Kindle this book reading app is much more difficult to subscribe to books and the reader options and features are missed

Far too complicated

The times is offering a couple of free books so as directed I went to the goose website. I found the book but was completely unable to find a way to download it. So I downloaded the app. Same problem So after ten minutes pissing around I’m still no nearer downloading my free books. I’ll stick to the other apps I use for ebooks. Books is simple to use and has all I need. Glose is a total shambles

Can’t sign up

I’d love to give this app a chance but I literally can’t sign up using my email due to “weak password” I use 1Password for creating random passwords and I picked some of the most complex options: 20 chars long, containing both upper and lower case characters, numbers and symbols; I’ve tried to generate multiple passwords but this app deems al of them weak for some reason 🤷‍♂️. What’s worse it doesn’t give you any hints about what it actually considers to be a strong password. Weird.

Rubbish app

Compared to Kindle this app is crap. Stupid gimmicks that add no value, endless clicks etc. Take a lead out of kindle. When I click the app I want to go back to reading my book. Not some crap you want me to read. I got a book free so had to use this app but it will be deinstalled as soon as I have finished. Total rubbish
