Is GoCar free?
Yes, GoCar is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is GoCar legit?
⚠️ The GoCar app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
The app doesn’t work, I have used 4 times because I had money there.
First time the car couldn’t start. I wait forty minutes until support provides me another car, and I had to wait for the refund.
Second time just after 200 meter the car stopped, of course it wasn’t parked. Neither me or support team could stop the time counter for 4 hours, so I were charged.
Third time, same day, original plan was go to ikea and bring the items. So we booked other car there before take the bus. We bought heavy stuff. We tried to open the car we booked, same plate, it didn’t open. Support team told me our car was not this one. They told me the car was 15 miles away… it was the orinal car.
We had to take a taxi because we couldn’t lift the items. It was expensive.
Fourth time, was fine.
Now after several months GoCar is charging me again 36 euros for the second car.
What’s wrong with this app?!

Run away from them
I do not recommend it. The car locks and unlocks from the app and it fails a lot, they did not give us a physical key and the vehicle left us stranded. The tow truck had to come and GoCar charged us for the entire reservation anyway. In addition, they stopped answering messages and calls, we were able to avoid spending the night on the street thanks to the police who helped us. They should be ashamed to have such bad service.
Several service flaws
I have had numerous issues with the cars not opening or closing, bookings cancelled mid-trip, 30 min average waiting time when calling customer service and refunds that don’t get paid without a fight.

I uploaded & have been waiting for the app to validate my license for over a week. I was asked to submit additional details such as proof of address & passport which I did and still nothing.
Gocar was the only option available for me to rent a car as the other companies were extortionate. I’ve submitted multiple emails & requests for an update with ZERO response so any customer service just doesn’t exist. Incredibly frustrating.
Also not happy that I sent over my license, residency card & passport with 0 feedback or review. No idea what you’ve done with these documents
Doesn't work
I own an iPhone 6 plus with the latest iOS. The app won't work unless I reinstall it all the time. And even then it just shows the first green screen and in 2 seconds it shows my home screen again. Can't access it.

Not bad - some feedback
Loyal and long time fan of Go Car. One thing I would love is a calendar invite that I can add for pick up and drop off so I can book, add to my calendar and get a reminder before my booking starts and another notification before my booking ends. Some other apps offer this.
Not working
Tried to register but never received the sms code after giving email and a password … hopefully not a phishing scam 🤔
Poor User Experience
The app experience is mixed. Tells you when car if car is available or not but not when so its an unnecessary trial and error to see if there is an alternative slot nearby. Frustrating. The car closing with app is mixed.
