Had £30 and go henry took it away
Avoid this apps, kids don’t understand it as they cant see the actual money. It means nothing to them but its an expensive monthly cost for us parents.
It’s such a good app I use it and it does everything you need but the only downside is you can’t transfer money to other people which is a bit sad 🩷 but it’s a really good app and I highly recommend
I have been testing the app for the last 2 years, I have been gathering views and insights from wide datasets. I found that the GoHenry app is easier to use than most large banking apps making its features extremely useful. It allows children to take charge of their own money while giving them opportunities to learn about it in its entirety. I thought extremely informative and I definitely recommend it to anyone looking to provide their child with early access to their own finances However in some peoples experiences they claimed that money was taken from their account without reason which ultimately is a an unfavourable experience, especially from a banking app which one can infer is supposed to be secure. While I’ve not experienced this myself the share volume of people have claimed this has significantly decreased my overall review.
I downloaded this app almost three years back because my mother wanted to teach me about finances and responsibilities after inflation and the pandemic due to the critical role money will play in my future and need to build financial good habits from a impressionable age. Although quite pricey at £3 a week (I think) I believe for a lot of families it will be well worth it. It rests heavily on your family dynamic and child’s age. If your child is year 4-5 and up, I would highly recommend it as usually for younger kids there isn’t a lot of opportunities to spend, so their money can grow quickly while they learn. Entering secondary school, there will be a lot more options, but you can block certain categories, including ATMs ( helpful in case of running away) and set spending limits a week, seeing where and what categories they spend their money on. I must confess, my habits aren’t the best, however I spend less than my allowance+saving money each week, and have a steady saving place. I know it is for a good cause, but keep your eye out for the donations, because the app doesn’t tell you as a parent if or how much your child is giving and always automatically transfers to the charity if you ticked that ages ago ( you should have to have permission from a parent) Thanks
I have been using GoHenry for a couple years now and it’s good I love having my own source of money on me at anytime. But it has been a bit weird at times like for some reason I had £79 from Christmas a couple days ago and bought a game bringing me down to £55, then I bought just a small purchase on mobile game I own bringing me down to £50 but when I went to check I had lost half my money and now only have £25
i love this app it suits me and i do chores to earn ny mones and it helps me to save and learn different thing about saving.this app is very good
hate it so much, slow, charges you to put money into account, children accounts can’t transfer money to other people etc just dont get it
Money doesn’t go into the account through gifts or just disappears so have to ring up to try and sort it out.
