The app is quite good, but the lack of more Themes is annoying, especially for a reading app… Even Apple iBooks is better…
It’s a good extension. Super neat and handy
The app is very smooth and the shortcuts integrations are excellent. I use the app daily as a quick aggregator of interesting stuff. Would love more swipe actions connected with tags, e.g. a certain swipe tags an article with an assigned tag and/or shows a dropdown of your favorite tags. A quick(er) way to mass tag your untagged articles seems to be missing. I’m also missing a quick view of all articles sorted by website + the ability to group the sources in folders would be very helpful.
Overall I think the app offers a great reading experience and ample automation features. What I would like to see improved: - Highlighting and annotation - The ability to save the articles themselves in iCloud instead of on device only and/or be able to tell which articles have actually been downloaded onto the device and which haven’t
Amazing app to makes saving and reading articles a pleasure. Already easily worth the price but some things I’d like to see added are: - Highlights. Maybe even with the possibility of exporting them, but already being able to filter through highlighted articles would be amazing. - Suggested tags. When saving an article, suggested tags based on the ones in the library - Group by source. Group saved articles based on the site they are hosted on.
One of the best apps I've bought. I really like the simple and easy way to save URLs, but I wish there was a feature to highlight text.
Update from 21 July 2023: The app now has a read/watch timer included. Wow, I couldn't be more excited. Also, the video support has been adjusted in the past alraedy, so for me personally I don't see anything negative anymore. It's near perfect. Of course, there's always some minor improvements that would be nice, but that's just a preference anyway. Previous review: I initially reviewd this app over a year ago and in the meantime some (big) updates have come out, all pushing it forward. It might not (yet) be a big name app, but if you ask me it fully deserves an Apple highlighted app at some point. I used to use Pocket, but got sick of the data collection, ads and premium pricing. GoodLinks does practically everything you know from other read later services/apps, but in a native iOS/macOS way. The tags, the read/unread behaviour, the article downloading with support for logging into sites with a subscription (also works to get around the EU cookies wall, simply by accepting the cookies), the iCloud sync between devices and finally but definitely not least: the fantastic native behavour and speed. It's right up there with some of Apple's own best apps in terms of performance. The only downsides at the moment is that I miss some info about how long an article is (either word count or estimated minutes to read) so I can better judge the sometimes 10-15 minutes I have in between meetings whether I can fully read an article. And the other is video behaviour with sites such as YouTube and Vimeo is not optimal. But apart from that, it's close to perfect. I really try a lot of apps/services until I come across the right one and finally found the perfect read later app in GoodLinks. Honestly, you won't be disappointed with this. And the way the developer is bringing updates keeps me hopeful for future updates. It's not the weekly "bug fixes and improvements" but rather actual updates and they're of course not very often, but often enough, just check the update history. 5/5 stars. If I could use decimals it would be 4.8/5 due to those 2 minor missing features or QoL updates.
Daarom 4 sterren.
Great UI, seamless syncing. Would love to have the option while reading to highlight, annotate or make a simple short notes based on highlighted text. It’s really that good at it’s core that note taking would be for me a great addition 🤗. Olive Tree app is a good example.
