I like the concept of this app but it malfunctions a lot

App is slow, missing useful features, many times need tap to reload (my database is not even huge). Half of the books is not available (older editions) to add/browse and you may wait for months that some of pointed out ‘librarians’ will process your request. I am disappointed and get rid of the app already and with new year moving somewhere else.

there’s been a bug in it for years now where it won’t let me add dates so i can’t log progress on my reading challenge. It says “loading error: an unexpected error occurred”. This happens on every device, but not the desktop website. generally i like this app, it’s not the peak of ux design but it does what it does. i’ve flagged this problem years ago so it’s kind of bothering me that it hasn’t been fixed.

Dear devs, can you add dark mode to the goodreads app? Would amend my rating to 5 stars if you did.

the idea that only “librarians” can add any book to Goddreads is a disaster. How am I suppose to beat my yearly challange if half of my books aren’t on Goodreads and I cannot add them, like I used to.

this app is SLOW. to load my want to read list takes forever (its not thousands of books, its more like a hundred) also when navigate to book details, or change its status (want to read-read- etc) the whole list reloads. why? its really not user friendly, to begin scrolling from the beginning again. please do something about these issues, because now what makes it outstanding is their users and their valuable reviews, not the app itself. it deserves better, and i will happily raise my rating after these taken care of

Would be nice to filter book editions by language. Great app otherwise.
