The app’s main idea is great, but it’s so buggy. It marks books as both read and wants to read which does not make sense for me. The counter for read books is wrong. It’s almost impossible to mark a book as read and include it in your year challenge. I’ve been using the app for 30 minutes and I found some many bugs (or maybe those are weird features I don’t understand)

If the book you want to add to your list is not an English edition, there are high chances you won’t find it. If you want to have it added - only librarians have the option to do this and it takes  2+ months for someone to even look at your request. Not to mention it’s really difficult to find the forum on the app - so you better get your laptop ready…

i do love the whole concept of goodreads, however in today’s world it is annoying that you have more features on the desktop site rather than in the app, in my opinion the app should allow you to do what you can also do on desktop site, so this way the app will be much more functional, i hope that they will begin introducing features from the desktop site to the app as well 
(Such as creating shelves, editing your profile, etc.)
