the thing that i like about goodreads is that it’s simple. it’s not trying to be anything it’s not. you’ve got everything you need to talk about books (except the 0.5 star rating, which sucks) but it’s not following every trend or trying to make it look super cute and aesthetic for social media. it’s just chill. so please change the reading challenge page back to what it was before. i want to see the books read and how far behind or ahead i am thank you the one before this was much much better.

For an app which is supposed to be the „world‘s largest site for readers and books recommendation“, it is embarrassing how many bugs it has. The most frequent bug I encounter is „unable to load“.  - You are only adding a few books to a shelf and then all of a sudden your shelves are not able load anymore, showing you there are -1 books on the shelf.
Then today I wanted to start my reading challenge for 2025  and was prompted to sign in for that. However, there were no options for signing in via Google, Apple etc., only via email. So now I cannot access the reading challenge on my app.
In my opinion, this I really sad because Goodreads could be really good for tracking your books and getting recommendations if it weren’t for these many inconveniences you face when using it.

Ich liebe die App und nutze sie regelmäßig seit 2 Jahren, um mir challenges zu setzen, meinen Fortschritt festzuhalten und meine Wunschliste zu pflegen. Die Vorschläge sind eine tolle Inspiration und ich mag die Updates meiner Freunde. Einziger Nachteil: die Korrektur einer Edition oder die Aufnahme eines neuen Buches über das Forum ist extrem umständlich und klappt oft gar nicht. Abfragen werden einfach ignoriert. Super schade, denn erst durch Feedback von Lesern kann der Inhalt doch besser und Fehler lprtigkert werden.
