Also, being able to rate a book before it comes out (whether that is by tanking the ratings or rating it highly) is very unhelpful… Maybe not allowing ratings until the day after its release for most users? Like, allow arc readers/beta readers etc rate it by showing proof that the author send it to them.

There is not much to say, except that this is the best app for book lovers. You can find almost any book there is on this app, a well-informed community, and helpful reviews. If I would change anything at all is the way you search for other editions, as I’ve often found myself looking to see if there is a Greek edition available, having to scroll through tens of books. I would prefer a filter, where I can short by language.

Overall it’s a great app … mostly because there hasn’t been anyone to come up with a better one. There have been no improvements in the last few years. It’s slow and if I’m honest is kind of ugly. No new features have been added such as chatting with other users. It feels like the app runs on autopilot.

Let’s make it simple. If you’re into reading you most probably know and use the Goodreads site. It’s an essential resource for bookworms. 

The app however is just plain terrible. Ugly, slow, unwieldy without any support for basic platform features such as split screen on iPad.

I love this app. I have been using it for years. It’s the only option in my opinion. However in the many years I have been using it there has been little to no improvement. The app is slow, it freezes, it’s not aesthetically pleasing, there have been cases where I couldn’t even open my app, and it’s missing a lot of features. I would be okay with the above if I knew there were things being done to fix the problems. But the most frustrating thing is that it feels like nothing is changing through the years.
