## Google Authenticator Description
Google Authenticator voegt een extra beveiligingslaag toe aan je online accounts door een 2e verificatiestap toe te voegen als je inlogt. Dit betekent dat je naast je wachtwoord ook een code moet invoeren die door de Google Authenticator-app op je telefoon wordt gegenereerd.

De verificatiecode kan worden gegenereerd door de Google Authenticator-app op je telefoon, ook als je geen mobiele of netwerkverbinding hebt.

• Synchroniseer je Authenticator-codes met je Google-account en op je apparaten. Zo heb je er altijd toegang toe, ook als je je telefoon kwijtraakt.

• Stel je Authenticator-accounts automatisch in met een QR-code. Dit is een snelle en makkelijke manier om te zorgen dat je je codes correct instelt.

• Ondersteuning voor meerdere accounts. Je kunt de Authenticator-app gebruiken om meerdere accounts te beheren, zodat je niet steeds tussen apps hoeft te schakelen als je moet inloggen.

• Ondersteuning voor het op basis van tijd of tellers genereren van codes. Je kunt het type codegeneratie kiezen dat het best aan je behoeften voldoet.

• Accounts tussen apparaten overzetten met een QR-code. Dit is een handige manier om je accounts naar een nieuw apparaat over te zetten.

Je om welke reden dan ook je apparaat moet wissen/herstellen en je geen backup hebt of kunt maken. (Mij al meerdere keren overkomen)

Of je denkt na herstel dat alle accounts hersteld zijn tot je na een half jaar gebruik van je nieuwe account er achter komt toch 1 te missen. En vervolgens heb je de keuze tussen backup terug zetten en niet weten welke nieuw toegevoegde accounts dan overschreven worden. Óf je oude backup overschrijven en zeker weten dat je die ene dan misschien voorgoed kwijt bent (met al het geld of werk wat je daardoor verliest). 

Voor mij zijn deze gevaren groter dan het gevaar om géén authenticator te gebruiken en dus “minder beveiligd” te werken. 
Zelfs met een yubikey heb ik soortgelijke problemen mogen ondervinden.

Ik zoek dus nog steeds naar de gouden oplossing. 🤷🏻‍♂️
