Widget Design Needs Consistency

Ashifali Shaikh on

India

The Google News widget provides great information at a glance, but it lacks polish compared to other app widgets. Specifically, it doesn’t align with the design standards of other widgets on iOS. The lack of proper border radius makes it feel out of place on the home screen, disrupting the otherwise smooth and cohesive look. Please consider updating the widget design to match iOS aesthetics, ensuring a consistent and visually appealing user experience. Functionality-wise, it’s excellent, but design matters too!

Google News used to be my go to app for quick news from multiple sources. I used to get features like rejecting certain type of news and news sources as I found them biased or other such reasons. Many a times Google used to overlook such an input and still show irrelevant news, but I let it go. Now. Google has simply removed that feature and intact started showing me more content from the sources I specifically opted out of. Google is blatantly doing social engineering on behalf of establishments that let them run their operation or pay them. So now 1 star. I would given 0 or even minus star if that was possible. Save your data and personal info, STOP GOOGLE.
