To use it you HAVE to give full access to your photo album, I don’t want it to sync exactly to my iCloud Photos. Not only that but when you delete off there since it’s synced it’s very easy to delete the iCloud copy if you don’t read the prompt properly which I happened to do, luckily I noticed pretty quickly. Overall it’s a lot worse than iPhones photos app. Do not recommend.
I was playing my video's It played sound for a couple of seconds and it blocked the sound (disappointed)
I spent a long, looong time organising my Albums into Alphabetical order so that I could find them quickly. Showed this feature off to others and that got them starting with Google Photos. Recently wanted to find to put some photos into an Album beginning with A … and couldn’t find it! Realised I haven’t got them in Alphabetical order any more either. What has happened???? Am I going to have to change to a different App after all these years?
I absolutely hate this app. Until you introduce a sub folder/ album structure users can manually control this is a no go.

The app does not work on my iPhone 15 Pro Max running the latest iOS. It constantly freezes and becomes unresponsive. It's surprising that such a major company (Google) hasn't resolved this serious bug despite multiple updates.
